My weekend

Last full weekend without the kids!

Didn't do much on Friday, except went with my Dad to the cardiology place for him to get all sorts of testing. They didn't find anything wrong with him! He's in his mid-70's and healthy! So we might not ever find out what caused the runs of 140's HRs last month. But whatever it is, it's not something that is still there, or detectable by ay of the tests they ran.

Saturday morning I went with my Dad to a local geocaching event. It's always great to meet up with old caching buddies and hearing more caching stories. Then the event itself was a blast! Dad & I didn't win (we didn't expect to) but we felt like we worked well as a team again, and had alot of fun.

Later Saturday afternoon, Hiker took me to see the Journey to the Center of the Earth movie in 3D... and that was a fun movie, with some cool 3D shots. I absolutely loved the parts where people jumped or screamed because of something that was 3D/scary on the screen. Hiker jumped when a yo-yo came at us- though I'm sure he wouldn't admit to jumping at that... I know he did. LOL And some lady sitting behind us let out a completely out-loud scream at one scene with a big fish with teeth!! LOL

It was packed alright!!! Now I'm exhausted and ready to crash into bed!

But hugs to you, Cat- about your night. Hope you're feeling MUCH better tonight than this morning! I've been there- years ago in my crazy college days... it seemed like it happened almost every weekend. WHY did I do that?!!? :-P Sometimes I think I'm just LUCKY that I graduated with a degree despite all the nutty stuff.

Shrimps, I just love reading your updates! For so many reasons - you just always have such a nice variety of interests and hobbies - and it is great how you and Hiker just fit together like a puzzle with all of the pieces. I am so glad to hear that your dad's tests came up okay.

I think it is really neat that you and Hiker will go and get your kids together and make a road trip together - that speaks volumes!!

Good stuff - it is fun to come back and read all of the "my weekends" around here!

I'm glad you had a nice weekend, Shrimps! I love a good ol' fashioned movie date. I'm happy to hear your dad came out great from the testing! Its cool you can do the geocaching with him.

I like that you and Hiker made the best of your kid free time. What a great few weeks to get "reaquainted" ;o)

Thanks Rebecca, Judy, soccermom, Moon, Isysmoon and Pacs!!! Thanks for being happy and celebrating with me!

Judy- I also think it speaks volumes that he VOLUNTEERED to come with me to pick up my boys. I never asked him to come... never even made any comments about how I didn't like doing it alone- as I actually ENJOY my alone-time road trips! But he wanted to make a road trip out of it, so we could have another mini-vacation together before the kids are back. And he's wanting to take his car, too. Where did I find this gem of a man?!?! Believe it or not- on Match!!!!!! But I'm keeping him! :-)

It really has been a great time for us to connect and just spend more time together this summer. I think we are paired up more like socks now, than ever! LOL We've been in various situations, done different things... and no matter what happens, we continue to match up and get along swimmingly... and everything goes great. :-) He's by my side when I need him to be, but he doesn't in any way, smother me. It just plain WORKS, and it's so easy. I'm amazed by it all!

It sounds like fun, especially the 3d movie. I didnt even know there was one out. Those are the best too. I read the book. Thought it was hokey even though I am a Jules Verne fan. But the movie sounds too cool.

Is this a serious, exclusive thing with Hiker?
