New Year's Eve
| Thu, 12-30-2004 - 1:50pm |
I posted on the other board that Maggie mentioned but if any of your are interested, please pop over there and give any feedback you have. I didn't want to post here because traditionally singles don't want to hear about marrieds with regard to New Year's Eve plans although I have to say, they haven't been any easier since I've been married than they were when I was single. The post is under the for better or worse folder.
Hope it was okay to post this, just wanted to make sure my friends saw the post too.

too damned smart, that's what I am...LOL
After learning his last name and doing a couple of searches...here's what I found. Ok, I think I'm going to send him email and just bow out of tonight, no explanations no excuse. Funny, he didn't mention he's on probation (found that with the county site)...sheesh...he is a graduate student though.
<< Marijuana>> , mushroom find leads to arrest Published Friday, police early this morning found a mushroom-growing operation in a home while serving a narcotics search warrant. Just after midnight, police served the warrant at blah blah blah Road and found marijuana , drug paraphernalia and a suspected psilocybin hallucinogenic mushroom-growing operation. Thomas (leaving last name out), 45, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of first-degree child endangerment, according to a police news release. Two juvenile males were found in the house. They were detained by police and released to juvenile authorities. The search warrant was developed using information from CrimeStoppers tips and an investigation by the school resource officer unit and the Community Action Team. Tom was being held this morning at the County Jail. His bond had yet to be set

I would have done a search, too!! I always did that in my online dating escapades.
At any rate, yes, I would DEFINITELY bow out with a sick child excuse, followed by an "I've put the dating on hold for now" if need be. Good thing you found out now. A single mom certainly doesn't need that.
Sorry - this must be a disappointment for you. But you do deserve a pat on the back for being so so smart.
you know, I am really not disapointed. Maybe I just needed to prove myself right on not using the personals. I took my profile down and sent a short email to the service telling them that if they are going to charge people they should also provide screening for criminal offenses and told them a short version of the story.
Then I rented some movies. One sounds really fun!! It's called Life With(out) a Mexican...supposed to be about the whole latino population of CA vanishing and what it would be like. :) Anyway...I am kind of relieved. I didn't want to do a big NY thing. My greatest achievements have happened already with my class, karate and the ESL thing. A so so date would have been....anticlimactic...
I'm really good all by myself. Just Another Friday night in paradise. :)
I agree about the personals. Just too much of a way for trouble to happen. This is a good lesson and reminder.
At any rate, I hear you about the NYE thing. My son and I are enjoying a nice evening at home. We just cooked a Mexican dinner!! He helped prepare the food and set the table.
Now we are going to put on our jammies and watch a movie. Although ours will probably be Toy Story.
Your movie sounds interesting. :-)
And yet another winner!
Holy crap Candi! Where do these creeps come from?
Anyway, I was thinking on the way home (got kicked out of there VERY early today) how I envied the couple of you that were going to stay home with a movie and jammies and no complications. I am pretty tired lately. I know that I'll enjoy watching Ty enjoy bowling. But really, I think I'd LOVE an all by myself night tonight, NYE or not. I am craving some alone time. Paradise it is Candi, but I know I don't have to remind you!
And I'd LOVE to sleep way way in tomorrow. BUT...Jas has a football game that he's playing in tomorrow morning and I do want to see him and he wants us to go. (the old guys vs the young guys at church. He still falls under the "young" category this year. 34 and up is the "old" ;)
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU , DEAR FRIENDS!!!
mmm, chocolate pastilles and raisinets with a cranberry juice straight up chaser. It was good...
Now I'm going to bed...
Happy New Year's all!
A cranberry chaser!! You are HILARIOUS!! LOL!!! :-)
Well my NYE was very good - my son and I spent time together in the kitchen - we made roasted salsa from scratch, he learned to use the rice cooker and he set the table and helped make a beautiful salad. We talked and enjoyed our meal.
Then we put on our jammies and snuggled up on the couch and watched a football game. Just a plain good evening and I am blessed that he was with me. My stupid ex thinks he has one over on me because we do not exchange my son every other new year - I always have him on NYE!!
I feel much stronger now that I have made it through the holidays alone. I also feel very special and that the next man is going to have to show up at my door with 6 matched white horses and a chariot. (LOL!!) He will have to be very "into me" - I am not going to go out of my way to impress anyone or beg anyone to be with me because I am a special princess and have a LOT to offer.
This is big because I have spent my whole life worrying if I am good enough and accepting crap in exchange for some attention!!
I am off to a good start for 2005 and I wish the same for everyone here.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Feliz Ano Nuevo!!
