I remember being exhausted and tired during the newborn days. Happy to have a baby, but worn out too. Sleep deprivation led to tons of fights with my husband. I swear he suffered from the male version of post partum depression. We split when DS was 5 months old.

It's not uncommon for a relationship to fall apart after the birth of a child. Consider your actions carefully.

I agree that a relationship may take a turn for the worse after a new baby. It is like getting married all over again - you have to reshuffle boundaries and priorities. So it can be good to give it time - Alison's post is excellent and will require good answers to help us with this.
