I bet he really did forget - but after his temper tantrum about his - it really makes him look bad. But I think that is sort of a guy thing.
Anyway, if you would rather put your feet up tonight - tell him that - and then if you feel like it he can take you out on the weekend - not just a weeknight thing.
It is wonderful to have time to yourself after running with kids. It really is. I am loving it right now - the only kids in the PP are my 2 dogs who got a bath this morning - there were 3 of us in the shower - and I have cleaned the house and it is now going to stay clean with just me. What a concept. And last night I ate a tuna fish sandwich - no negotiating or cooking what's for dinner!!
HUGS to you - I am so glad you had a wonderful birthday with your family - that is always the best I think!!!!!
I agree with West - I think he was just a dolt who completely forgot or got the days mixed up like he said.
I'm sure he does feel bad about your birthday. I have learned that most men (not all but lots) don't hold on to dates like anniversaries and b-days as well as we do in our heads. Not that they don't care, it's just a thing with them. I dated a guy once who loved me to death but continually kept thinking my birthday was in a whole different month, lol. You just gotta look at what they do as a whole, rather than the little things (but trust me- I am a big goof when it comes to sentiment and I hate it when a guy forgets mine).
I say stay in tonight! Just come up with a reason and thank him for the offer anyway, and ask if you can postpone it till the weekend? You need time alone and why not honor that?
