Ok, so most of you read my update about my weekend with George and the kids. I might as well say his name, because the cat is out of the bag anyway when I talked about him last week. Soooo, I wrote a text message to George on Sunday afternoon and thanking him for the time we had and how much we enjoyed it.

NO WORD. NOT ONE. So, I'm thinking ok, maybe it wasn't that great for him. Anyway, I just got a text message back two days later: It says:

Thanks so much for coming over. Katie loved it as did I. You and Alex did a great job with spaghetti. Lets get together again soon.

Hey Cat..

That's cool that he did respond today and sounds like he would like to get together again. My question to you is do you feel any spark (would you like your next get together to be solo w/o kids) or are you rather just enjoying the get togethers, casual and relaxed no pressure friendship style. Or maybe somewhere in between (relaxed friend with the potential for something more down the road?) Just curious as that would determine how I would respond to

I think because we had so much to talk about, I'd like to do something also without the kids, but let him maybe take that lead. I'm not sure if he meant with or without. So I definitely don't want to suggest without. Definitely the no pressure for a relationship but not really closing it either. I definitely want to keep that friendship. I felt extremely comfortable the other night. Everything seemed very balanced which is something I really need.

He didn't give you much to work with.

I think that sounds good! Then leave it at that and see if he bites.

It is great to have someone you can just relax with and get along with well. And balanced is GOOD! Let us know how it goes :o)

Hi Cat - I agree with Pac-Sun - depending on which direction I would like the relationship to head in - would dictate how I would respond.

Do I respond right away or wait a few hours?

How about just: Sounds great!

Which keeps it WIDE open for whenever and whatever he wants to do that.

How about simply "sounds great!".

He only gave you a handful of words, with a very noncommittal and very casual tone.

He wont' see his daughter for another 2 weeks, so I wonder if "soon" means without? God, I hate analyzing. I'll send him a note shortly before 2pm, since it's technically my lunch hour and although busy, I should have time to respond 3 hours after.
