Brad Seafood invited me to dinner .... probably Thursday night (I'll know for sure after I secure a sitter). He called yesterday to invite me. I'm glad he said dinner... that way I don't feel like I'd be wasting my time. And I like that he's taking the initiative to plan the date. He said he'll call back (probably tonight) with details of which italian restaurant and i can give him the day when I can get a sitter....
So what to wear??? I've read that on a first date, I should dress to kill.... but I'd only do that if I knew the guy well and we were finallly going out... But not so much on a first meeting.... But then again, we're talking Italian Restaurant... I bought a new dress back in March.... it's plaid, cotton, fun looking, pink/beige color scheme... BUT I dont' normally wear dresses. I was saving it for a special occasion.... My other choice is jeans with a nice blouse. I have this blouse that is festive looking, fun, kinda sexy (but not too much).
Right now, I'm feeling the jeans and nice blouse... but what do you usually wear on a first meeting/first date?

I usually wear jeans and a nice top with either heels or dressy/sequin flip flops. Depending on where I'm going would determine the shoe. lol I figure that once I get to know someone better I can wow them later. :)

I usually wear shorts or crop pants. Whatever you pick should make you feel confident. You want a little bit sexxy but a little bit sophisticated/neat.
For a dinner date I would pick jeans or crop pants and a nice top. I try to take extra care of hair, makeup, jewelry, shoes, purse, belt - that they all match and look put together.
I am the type that goes into an absolute tizzy over what to wear so I try to pick it long before the date.
From what you write I would vote jeans.
Good luck and keep us posted - it is nice he is taking you out to dinner!!
Thanks everyone for the vote on the jeans.... i agree.... that helps...
And yes, it's been a long time since I've had a dinner date.... i hope i don't go in freakaziod mode or worry too much about how it will go.... As usual, i can't tell too well what he looks like from his profile. In one of his pictures, he's kinda dorky... but i like dorky, actually. Any other first date/first impression advice is welcome....
