Sooo--my DD(13) and I have very open communication (a very good thing--my mom and I did not at that age and I was pregnant at 17) and sometimes I wonder if it is too open!?!?

It was scary--I, of course, did not do into explicit detail--as soon I as started to describe something she would say something like ewww or "I get the point mom"

Thanks--I do hope the open communication continues--I mean, really, what can she ask that'll top this--I know, I don't want to know!

I think you did a GREAT job and I hear ya about having to discuss such "fun" subjects such as oral sex with your teen. When my son was in 7th grade (middle school here) oral sex was a huge problem with the kids. They didn't view it as sexual or see anything wrong with it. I was just floored since I had no clue what that was until High School. Now they are exposed to so much at such an earlier age.
That is awesome that your daughter came to YOU with questions!

You did really good by talking to her and being up front. I would have SQUIRMED through that conversation inside but put on that confidant logical face to make her comfortable. Way to go for not hiding and dismissing the whole thing!

pacific...fearing the day DD asks me the same.

I wasn't really calm, confident and logical--I squirmed a little on the outside and we both giggled and I explained everything--she and I are very close.

"just imagine what could have happened if she tried google to get her answers instead of me!"

You are so smart to think of it that way - I wish my mom was like that. I think you handled everything great and it is lucky she came to you.
