"I like being active, life is too short to be a couch potato. Love to play tennis, golf, working out or anything outdoors. I also like traveling to places I have never been before. I love to cuddle in front of the fire with someone special."

Do you think I should wink???????????????? He even has a picture of himself on the Great Wall of China!!

Okay - I winked.

Okay - I will send a note tomorrow. Am so sleepy now. Just got done talking to the girl who I know from HS. Oh boy - a lot of our classmates have a lot of drama in their lives. Maybe I should pretend I graduated 10 years later. She said 10 of them are members of AA - which I guess is okay - because they had to make a big effort and are on the straight path now. Many are divorced. A few have died and some have terminal cancer.

She married a guy who had 2 kids and she raised them. They don't speak to their father or mother but love her dearly. She lost everything in her divorce and doesn't have a car. But she sounds happy now.

No word yet.

I did get an email from one of my old college flames. This one rivals rlch's Greek guy- he was tall, dark, handsome and we always got along so well. But had to go our separate ways upon graduation. He wrote a note a few months later saying he really liked me. But what are you going to do at that age when you live 2k miles apart? Nothing which is what we did.

Anyway, we started writing and when I told him I was into swimming, biking and running he writes back that he is an avid runner.

The problem is that we are still 2K miles apart. But such is life, right?

I am going to visit one of the biggest hospitality management universities here - one of my old college instructors is there. Thought it would be fun and hey - it is more networking, right? He might get me to be a guest speaker and then I get to meet more people.

After all, it is a number's game.

I am quite happy single. The problem is that I have worked so hard to be happy single that it is now a challenge to find someone who can top this state! But as I always say, I am not in a hurry. I do not want someone who is going to be a negative in my life. I have to have someone who adds to it. And after talking to my former HS classmate last night I feel truly blessed. I think she was lucky to get 2 great stepkids out of her marriage, but her exh left her penniless and with bad credit - she doesn't even have a car. It was all about him. I surely don't need a trainwreck like that in my life.

Thanks as usual to all for kind words.

Guess what? This one did write back:

"Thanks for the wink - I am flattered!

My goodness but you are fit! I pride myself in staying in shape but I can't hold a candle to you!

Are you originally from this area?

What is your business if you don't mind me asking?

(name)"

So I wrote him back. Will keep you posted.

I do like Starbucks - probably because I have learned that the first meeting needs to be short, casual, simple and sweet. It is all about meeting in person - and seeing if there is a mutual attraction and interest to go on the first date. Much easier on everyone's nerves.

I have never tried a bookstore - would not mind. I wonder if you would need to worry about talking too loud? Or maybe that could be romantic if you had to whisper? And you could see what books they are interested in if you walk around.

I also don't mind breakfast, lunch or happy hour. But prefer it is thought of more as a meeting. Leave them wanting MORE.
