1) Are you online now? not anymore - met someone online :)
2) Which online sites are you on or have you tried? Match, Yahoo, American Singles, eharmony, lavalife
3) Which one do you think is the best and why? Match & Yahoo both seem to have the largest populations to choose from
4) Do you think online dating works? yes - it's a great way to meet people you wouldn't have met otherwise, and screen out people you know won't be a good match
5) Share your profile description about you... don't have one up anymore
6) Share your profile summary about your date... ditto
7) Best idea for first date... mid-work-day lunch dates are short & casual enough to be low-pressure, also eliminates the need for a babysitter, assuming you are within short distance
8) A summary of who you have met – good or bad - and what you have learned...
First date was from Americansingles.com - carried on a lengthy email correspondence before meeting and turned out to be very incompatible. Went on 4 dates 'just to make sure'. Huge waste of time & energy. Ignored several red flags because I was lonely.
Second was from yahoo - dated for 1.5 months, turned out the guy was totally not interested in a LTR. Better to get the 'general goals' conversation out of the way early on!
Third and current is a woman I met on match (yes I'm bi). From what I know so far, seems to totally be the person of my dreams! She's dated a single mom before and is very understanding of the fact that my time is limited and my son comes first. Intelligent, responsible, fun & funny, open & nonjudgemental, great with kids, shares many of the same values & goals in life and similar lifestyle & schedule. Best of all we're just totally & mutually interested in getting to know each other and building a good foundation of friendship & trust and letting it gradually evolve from there. :)
Yes, we dated a year and 1/2 and he had his son the first 10 months of our relationship, every other weekend and one week night. His weekends with his son matched up with my weekends with dd, and since dd is with her dad every other week, that left plenty of kid-free time to spend together as well. When we met the court phase of the custody trial wasn't even scheduled. He felt confident (but not overly confident, he had good reason to be confident) that he would win and his son would stay put since there was no solid reason that they had to move away. I think if I met someone else that was in a custody battle I would walk away, but even in hindsight I think I had good reason to start a relationship with J because neither of us believed it would play out the way it did.

1)am not online!!
2)I used yahoo, excite and craigslist
3)It depends on the kind of man that you're after...different types seem to go onto different personals...back in the day craigslist had 'quality' people on the personals.
4)I think so!! I met some really wonderful men online...and my DH!
5)I never posted a pictures, but was pretty honest about my looks and hobbies
6)??
7)Do something during the day that's short and active...like a bike ride or a walk...NOT coffee!
8) I have 'met' 1001 jerks online...I have gone on many coffee dates...I have hooked up with some buddies...I met new husband online. It's like a bar...you're going to meet some jerks, but there are nice people that go to bars, too. One of the biggest errors I committed online was getting too involved in the writing thing, developing a huge crush on someone and then when I met them in person, they were painfully shy, not at all what I imagined, etc.
