is that there is no one here to appreciate what I am accomplishing this week! OMG. I am EXHAUSTED & have a LOT more to do! I have to get rid of my moms old couch. I wanted to keep it & recover it so it was beautiful again, but it would cost me 1K to do it right .... & its just ridiculous. I have a brand new one from my Gram being delivered tomorrow. I dont have a garage or basement, so no storage. I have 2 nice wooden sheds, but that couch would take up SO much room in one AND likely get mice nests in it or something. So ... I said good-bye to it (tearfully!) just now & the man with a truck is coming to take it away. I have SO many of her things - beautiful antiques - i dont NEED to hold onto the couch. But ouch!
ANYway, i just went & cleaned out one of the sheds (did the other last spring). WOWZA.

Rebecca, Mom to Averey, 2/8/00, Kibo, Sana & Zuri too!
How about doing my closets next?????
No choice. I work MUCH better under time pressure. lol
I rent my main house out in the on season (in order to afford to stay here after my divorce & bought my XH out).
I think we ALL work best under pressure!!
Awesome work Rebecca!
Okay - I am confused - laughing - but am curious - do you miss him because:
a) he might have been sober enough for one minute to lift one thing out of the shed
b) because he was so good at keeping junk that you are glad to have something to do
c) because there is a slim chance he would have appreciated all the cleaning you did and that he would be happy you threw out his things?
Had to ask!! LOL!! I was reading and thinking this is a funny post - but then I got confused and couldn't figure out what you missed about him so thought I would have to ask.
You have gotten a whole lot done in a day - that is MOST impressive - so you know we all appreciate how productive you are. Am so glad you have the renters coming soon - and that DD is getting a new room!
Congrats on getting the clean up done and letting go of stuff that really can't be reused. I have spent the last 6 months slowly getting the closets cleaned out, that gets tossed in the garage, til the garage was so full barely one car fit. LOL I borrowed my brothers huge trailer and dumped tons of stuff, but still there's a lot left to get rid of.
My X left all kinds of stuff, and even stuff that is listed in the decree he was supposed to take- like the freakin incubator in the storage area. I can't move it, too heavy, or it would have gone to the dump too. It's an older medical incubator for embryology. Like I'm ever going to get someone to come over and take that thing. It would cost a fortune to ship so no Ebay sale on it either.
QueenBun, who pawned off on my brother a hideous sculpture that a patient gave PsychoBoy My brother likes it.
No No - its just that only someone who actually LIVED here w/ me, would really have known what a PIA it was to use that shed, so filled up. Trying to stuff the bikes in, or lawnmower , on top of all the crap.
He is an IDIOT! OMG - I am cracking up - like everyone should cash the check write away so he is not overdrawn. And how sad is that for a man his age to be overdrawn because of a $44 check for freaking GS cookies! Cripes!!
Too bad you can't put him out in the junk pile from the shed!!
The thing is, he would see you do all that. He would let you do all the work while he sits. And then he would complain about it! NO NO NO - you don't want that!!
I bet LB would appreciate how much you are doing - because he is handy around the house!
What ever happened to simple math??? If he KNEW there was a $44 check still "out there"... then he should know to never go below $44 in the checking account, no matter WHAT week it was!!!!!!
Stupid, I tell ya... he has the checking-account brain of my ex. Keeping a running tally and managing a balance was never his thing. And then I was the bad guy for having to tell him "no" because he would see that there was still money left in the balance- but never could understand that it was already "taken" because of outstanding checks.
Yay on the shed-cleaning!!!!! Wanna come do MY house next??? ;-)
