Other boards DO IT, WHY can't WE????
| Fri, 09-21-2007 - 4:08pm |
We've been dodging the bullet for years! It's been on the topic and then it just DIES! But tell me WHY is it that we can't seem to get a single parents's weekend figured out??? I've been on this board almost 5 freaking years! I say we rent a huge condo or two for a weekend in a designated spot that makes it assessible for everyone and we all pitch in! OR we have one in two locations! East and West or North and South.
WHAT DO YA'll THINK??????????? Can we get it together!? I'll be happy to be on the planning commitee! All responses say Ai or Nay.

Well, Rebecca, you know I'm game for that! Considering I too live in RI!! :) This sounds like a great thing...I really hope we can make it happen and I can go!!

Even though I haven't been on this board very long, I would consider it. I could really use a vacation. Course, I'm in the same kinda boat with some of the others, timing and all.
With kids, once everyone is comfortable IRL, the olders ones could watch out for the younger ones.

I would love to meet you all - if it goes ahead, and it's somewhere like New York, who knows, maybe I could get a cheap flight ;o))

Ok, so when would be a good time for everyone? Do most of you agree that April/May would work? Or what other time destination are you looking at? I'm thinking we pin point where everyone is. My girlfriend did one of these things and then picked up a board-friend on the way to the destination so they could share gas. I am sure that would be possible for some of us too.
I have heard Rhode Island is fabulous, but I think it might be too far for most of us. Especially our deep southern and Mid-west ladies from Florida and Texas. Amelia Island is fantastic and it does have some great condo options, but again, too far for our Northern friends. I think the coast would be beautiful. Someone mentioned the Outterbanks. I have also heard great things about Virginia.
Here is a sheet: copy and paste. You don't have to put your exact location if you feel uncomfortable, but the closest city to where you live would be great. This way we can get an overview of who lives close to us and to pinpoint the best location for all.
Who wants to be on the planning committee with me?
