paris update

So I'm back from Paris and finally have time to get caught up on the board. I had a great time, my feet are still recovering. M made a huge effort to be available to get together before I left and again yesterday before he took off on his ski trip with his girls. He loves the watercolor painting of sailboats I found for him shopping in Montmartre. My phone worked but I didn't bring a converter to charge it so we didn't talk much while I was gone. Let's just say that in the hour we had together yesterday M let me know how much he missed me and how happy he was to welcome me home.
There will be a site where everyone who went on this trip will load their pics so we can all share. After I get my first half off a friends computer (my chip got full) I'll post my best shots on snapfish or something like that. I did a lot on my own. I've been to Paris before and my roomie, the Prof, is 60 and has arthritis in her feet so she wasn't up to all the walking. I floated between different subgroups within our big group ( about 40 people). I think my favorite part was the time I was exploring alone: I went to the Viaduc des Arts, very cool; the Sevres Museum ( I collect antique porcelain), explored the grounds of Versailles, and shopped along the Champs Elysee and Rue Honore (the dress I bought had to be declared at customs and the three cute and rather young agents declined to charge me duty on it). My exploration of the d'Orsay, the Louvre, and the Decorative Arts Museum were solo as well, although I had arrangements to meet my roomie afterwards. I was so comfortable and confident traveling alone that others, including the French thought I was a Parisian. I can manage a basic conversation in French but my American accent eventually takes over and I have to revert to English.
Although I didn't hear of anyone in our group actually getting a date with a Parisian, it wasn't due to a lack of interest on the part of the Parisian men. My roomie kept pointing out when men were making eyes at me, I was pointedly ignoring this. Lots of the women reported their flirtations. So I imagine if one went to Paris, open to the idea of dating while there, it'd be pretty easy to get a date.
Well better get back to paying attention to D3, she's attached to me litterally, and won't let me out of her sight.

Welcome home!! I just got in myself - have puppies needing to go out and piles of mail.
"M made a huge effort to be available to get together before I left and again yesterday before he took off on his ski trip with his girls."
That is HUGE!
Glad to hear you had a good time!!
Finally got through my email, snail mail, phone messages and accumulated laundry. The boys left the kitchen a mess, but hey, it's the cost of my having had such a cool Spring Break.
I totally know what you mean about the mess! I have been running around with messes all day from the house to work.
I am so glad you can ignore your exh and his drama. That is a huge step forward!!
And yes, I am waiting for the guy who is into me. There was a guy at my camp who made eyes at me and we always had good conversation. But he lives very far away. So, all I need is one like him here. Where there is one, there is more, right?
