Hi All,
I'm so happy to be invited to all the coworker parties now.... Remember when I was nervous about going to the first one back in January. Last weekend's party was only 2 blocks from my house... my new neighbors from work. So I was able to walk to the party.
Had a blast as usual. Mingled very well with everyone and didn't feel like my feet were bolted to the floor...(like at the first party). No dancing on the counters this time, though... the counter didn't look like it could hold a person... but it's still funny how the joke has lasted this long. Guess it was memorable.
On the topic of guys: Met two new photographers (one was married, the other was cute but young looking.) My old crush, the Producer, still has a girlfriend, but we are friends now.... which is really cool. Anchor guy also brought a girl to the party. Bummed. But I kinda got the hint that he just wasnt' that into me already (other than friendship). I think the other Photographer guy is into me. We talked a few times. He did the flirty thing of pretending to bump into me. He smiles at me, but seems shy. I'm not "hoping" for things to develop with him, but he seems nice.
I'm totally attracted to another coworker who works in Production... BUT his girlfriend is one my new neighbors. I felt slightly bad that I was flirting with him at her house. Oh well, it's only at a friend stage. I won't make a move or anything...just flirt. Overall, I feel like I'm developing genuine friendship with everyone. Come to think of it, I've never had this many friends at once... let alone coworker friends.
One other cute guy to mention is a coworker's roommate. He's 6 ft 6 inches. We chatted briefly. Hope I see him again. But honestly, if he was interested in me, he would know how to find me... he could just ask his roommate. He knows where I work.
For now, I'll keep going to as many parties as I can... I hear that's a great place to meet new guys. Even if they are not coworkers.. they could be friends of my coworkers... networking. And one of these days I might throw my own party. You are all invited!
God bless,
Loonybunny

LB, if you throw a party, I'm in, since it seems like they're always a blast!
I'm glad you had fun, and yes, I remember how stiff you felt at the first one. It's great to be able to mingle and enjoy yourself with people you spend a lot of time with. I have an ever-expanding group of coworkers that I call my friends, and even though I'm not looking for a relationship with any of them, it does make work life so much easier.
You're absolutely right about it being a good place to meet people- again, be careful about working and playing together, but networking works so well for a lot of people. You just never know who has a wonderful, eligible friend or cousin or coworker- keep an open mind, keep having fun!
Moody, no parties on the horizon
