I did great yesterday. For the first time since we separated, I did not crack. I made him make the first move and call ME. And he did. I knew he would. I had not seen him in 3 days. The kids had gone all weekend to my parents since I had work this weekend and so did Shane. Anyway, Friday night I went out with the girls and even met some new people. It was a blast. Okay except for these two married perverts grabbing my a$$ after I told them not to and trying to get me to show them my breasts. I was mortified, but stood my ground...NO! I hate idiots! Saturday I had a workshop I needed to attend and then met a friend out at a local restaurant to watch the races. I don't get into them but she does and we had appetizers and hung out a couple of hours. I left early to go to bed because I had work yesterday at 6AM. Shane texted me..."Dinner?" I texted back, "sure, come on". He asked if we were home and I said yes and he said he'd be over in a little while. I had already cooked and I think he planned to take us out, but he came on over. I had made stuffed baked potatoes. I had plenty. He sat with us and played with the kids as usual and he watched The Sopranos while the kids were not in the room. He had me come over and sit near him and rubbed my back and things just seemed better. No fights. It was a pleasant evening and it was initiated by him, not me. So I am proud of myself. I let him make the call on if he were going to communicate and he did. I stayed cool, did my thing, and let him do his all weekend. Other than texting back and forth Friday night while I was out (he was so curious as to where I had gone and called me and heard all the loud music) that was it for contact until he called me yesterday. GO ME!

Congrats!!! It gets easier with time. I am sooo happy that you got out and did your thing. You have to reclaim your life and get to know what makes you happy (outside of a relationship) and it seems that you are starting that! Kudos!
Enjoy life and you'll see that everything will just fall into place. :o)
Happy mom to 3 wonderful Boys and 1 pretty Girl!
"he was so curious as to where I had gone and called me and heard all the loud music"

Better still would be if you said - WHAT! I can't hear you - will have to call you later - and then DON"T CALL!!
That is so great your parents could take the kids for the weekend. And that you could get out and have fun! OH - you have to do that more often!
I agree with Judy- better would've been to make him wonder, to keep him guessing as to what you're up to.
Oh the hint was a hard one. It was a riddle and as smart as he is, I thought he might get it, but he totally didn't. He called me after I repeatedly said I would not tell him, that he had to guess the riddle if he wanted to see me. He heard the music and asked where I was and I told him..."solve the riddle, it's loud in here, text me instead of calling, I can't hear you!"

He texted a few more guesses but I never heard the phone go off. Oh well.....
