talkin' 'bout people....
Well, this post has nothing to do whatsoever with that song, but it's a fun song that's stuck in my head.
I'm just excited about a couple of new things going on, so here they are...
I bought a new car (finally) that I love! It's a Pontiac Aztec-I really needed the AWD during the winter, and I also really love the fact that it doesn't look like every other rolling box out there. It's actually used, which ended up working out perfectly since it has an aftermarket DVD player installed and remote start- perfect for those cold mornings soon to come!
I've only had it since Tuesday and I can't believe I ever lived without a DVD player in my car before! No more "he's looking at me" or "she's making that noise" anymore!! The wireless headsets are a godsend, and I do Netflix, so we can have a revolving door of videos in the car. I'm in love with technology!
Also, Shrimpy, I'm going to start geocaching! The local paper ran a story today about geocachers in the area, so I went to the website- it totally looks like fun! funnyguy and I signed up, and lo and behold, there are 20 caches within 5 miles of the house, and one right in my parents' backyard. It looks like a wonderful thing to do with the kids, gets us all outdoors and gives funnyguy something to be technical about. I'm super excited to start tomorrow.
I enroll the kids in their new school officially tomorrow morning, and then Droid and I are going to finish his shopping while the princess spends some time with my parents. Droid will spend the weekend with his father, and then I'm back to work on Tuesday.
Monday I go with my parents for my father's angioplasty, which I have decided to be optimistic and hopeful about. It isn't exciting, really, but if it works it will bring him the relief he needs.
I just finished (today) crocheting him an afghan for him to use while in his wheelchair- he gets easily chilled. I'm happy that it's done, and I know he's going to enjoy it. I'm not overly crafty, really, so this was a pretty big undertaking for me.
Also, funnyguy and I are planning a mystery dinner party at our new house. It's so exciting and wonderful to be with someone who likes those types of things as much as I do- in fact, it was his idea! We're trying to decide whether or not to use the party as a way to introduce our families, or just a fun reason to have our friends over. We have a while, so either way, it's fun just to be planning it right now.
We're planning to move officially next week- I called the cable, electric, and gas companies today, and funnyguy's off next week too, so hopefully we'll be all the way in by this time next week. I hate moving, but am excited about this move and all the new changes in my life.
It seems as if I find a way to fill free time as quickly as I find the time itself, but I'm just thrilled to be with someone who takes an interest in me, is on my level in so many ways, and truly enjoys the same things. Not having to miss out, attend alone, or drag someone unwillingly is just plain awesome.
Moody, for once enjoying all of the changes
