Phone call from Cook

Okay, so he finally called.... Cook, that is. His phone was out of minutes so he borrowed a friend's phone (teddybears). So, I didn't answer it when caller id said teddybear. Cook, teddy, and a couple other friends saw Pirates 3... I had another activity and couldn't go.... but he didn't invite me,neccesarily. I guess he called just to say "hi"

But I called him back afterwards and we talked for a little bit... I was in a talking mood. Turns out I was a little more intoxicated on Monday night than I thought.... Cook said, you were pretty trashed. I said, hey I remember most of it...

I am trying my hardest not to get all nuts or guy stupid... I mean, why should I... right... not over one guy when I have many phone numbers....

Oh, and I downloaded a new ring tone... you guessed it. "It's Raining Men".. I'm thinking of creating a new group called Men and putting all the guys in there... that way if a guy calls my phone will sing "It's raining men. Hallelujah...

LOL.

I totally think that that is hilarious that "It's Raining Men" is your new ringtone!

I think you need to tell us a bit more about Cook...what is it about him that "rings your bell" so to speak ;).... He seems a wee bit shy...is he? Detail details details!!!!

Rose (who is ticked off at her guy for choosing a free Once-In-A-Lifetime last minute fishing trip to Alaska over spending 3 days with me... I can't blame him but I am still ticked!!!!)

Very good question.... And I'm not sure if I have a good answer.

Cook is 23yrs. He want's to go to school for cooking and open a restaurant in the future. For now, he's a cook at my fave hang out. He has attractive black hair. Looks smart in his glasses... He has a small build. He's funny in a laid back kinda way. I get the impression that he's shy.. When I told him that he doesn't act interested in me, he said, that I don't act interested in him. But he said he IS interested. At one point on Monday night, I kinda remember him asking if he could kiss me. BUT i told him, no, not in the bar. ..rejection. he might never try again...

I really don't know too much about him yet....

he lost at a monopoly game last night and he lost at spades... but i like playing cards and board games, too. At the very least i think we'll remain friends... Oh, and we like the same kinda movies.

I was a cook for a long time. Usually most people in food service work very hard and are great team players and very dedicated to their jobs.

Why don't you ask him more about how he got his job and what he likes about being in the kitchen and where he wants to go to school and what he likes to cook!! I bet that gets him talking.

If he goes to school he will have a lot of options and even if he doesn't he will have a lot of options - it is easy to climb the ladder and there is a demand for foodservice people. The downside is that he will always work weekends and holidays and many nights and hours - but that can work if you have kids already - .

Keep us posted!

Love the ringtone - you have a good spirit!!

I understand how you feel. I mean, you can't blame him for fishing in Alaska, but 3 days with you should be special. But be sure you are very busy for a while, my dear!! He will miss you soon enough. Maybe he brings home some fish and cooks for you for dinner?

Have you told us about this new one yet? Perhaps - and maybe I missed it?

Thanks for the ideas.... actually, I thought of asking but i didn't want to seem interested...d'oh... But seriously, i didn't want to sound like i was interviewing him. I don't think he's ever asked me about my job, either. But that's a great idea to get him talking.

I resisted calling him or showing up at the bar last night. Yay, me. I thought... i gotta let him miss me a little.

Cook has always reminded me of Peter Parker.. not Spiderman... but the dorky Peter Parker and how he is shy with MJ. So maybe I'm hoping he's just shy but that underneath he is caring. Look at me getting ahead of myself.... It's a good thing "It's Raining Men" or I'd really being going nuts over this guy.

Well...he sounds like a very nice guy and cute in that geeky hiding-behind-his-glasses kind of way. I think maybe you should show him that you are interested as well as it seems like he will need that reassurance before he sticks his neck out too far. Although, at some point he is going to have to pick up the ball and run with it....know what I mean?
Good thing it is raining men!!! That is always a good thing!!!
