So, does anyone have any exciting plans for the 4th of July? I have to work Monday, so I am not sure yet what we are doing Tuesday. I know we will go watch fireworks.

I will be kid-free!!!!! :-O

It's time to call the Guinness Book of World Records because my ex is actually planning to keep the kids for almost a WHOLE month!! The longest he's ever been able to keep them was 1 week, and that was after promising to keep them for 2... but couldn't last that long. So let's see if he calls and tries to bring them back early- but I do hope they DO get to spend all that time together. I think it would do them all good to get more acquainted and see what they can be like together for more than just one weekend. They (ex and wife) are excited, and the boys are excited, too! I'm also looking forward to having some much-needed alone time!

But anyway, Sunday will be the official kid-exchange day, so I will spend it on the road (we are meeting halfway to transfer them over). They live 8 hrs' drive away, so it'll be an 8-hr-drive day for everyone to make their respective round-trips.

Hiker is leaving on Friday to head for Dallas (to go to the baseball game) and then to see family in the area, so I won't see him this weekend. But he will be back before July 4th and although we don't have any set plans yet, we are planning to get together to at least watch the city fireworks that night. So that should be some romantic fun- watching fireworks together. :-) We have to get our time in when we can, because he has a week-long camping trip coming up right after that. July will fly by before we even know what happened. All this kid-free time (for me) and we STILL won't be able to spend much time together! Kinda sucks- but that's life. It's not like I don't have a TON of things to keep myself plenty busy anyway.

I think the 4th of July is the coolest holiday. It's summer, and warm, and you can bbq and watch fireworks and eat salad and fruit is in season, and there's swimming, and it's just... wonderful. There are parades and carnivals and it's just what I need to break up the summer from work.

I also have to work Monday, unless I decide to take a floating holiday. Right now I'm swamped at work, though, so I'll probably work it.

I've been pretty stressed lately about things with my dad, and so I'm thinking this weekend I'm going to just relax. I'll take the kids Monday night to see the fireworks, and there's a little carnival type thing going on in a town near me that we might go to Saturday, but other than that, I have no real plans. I'm definitely going to enjoy it, though!

Hopefully, I'll manage to get out at least a little this weekend. Android's with his father, so I'm thinking about getting a sitter for the princess so I can go out. We'll see. Right now, I better get back to work, or I'll be working all weekend!

Moody- who thinks the 4th of July is probably her favorite holiday! (at least this week, since it's the closest one)

Nothing too exciting. I haven't really decided what DS and I will do for the fourth. Will probably fit in some work and some play.
