I have wondered why guys dont find me attractive. But I think I now know why. I am decent looking, in great shape and well kept but there is nothing feminine about me at all! Its pathetic. When I go out to run errands I usually throw on some running pants, one of my many race t shirts and a pair of sneakers. To work I wear a pair of nice jeans or cords with a matching polo shirt. To go out on a date I will throw on a blouse and leather jacket but still nothing feminine about me at all. I have one pair of little dot earings and no other jewelry. I even wear a worn out iron man watch. I even have a short boyish hair cut.
I even have a boyish personality. My hobbies are home maintenance, old cars and aviation. I run a lot and I am into martial arts and repair computers on the side. Jeez I am pathetic.
I need help. My kids want to put me on What Not to Wear.
Please help. I want to be attractive, especially to Religious Guy but I also want to be who I am.
Any ideas?

Hello Sue?,
I'm in the Tomboy club, too!!!
Marie,
Hi. I was ATC, well still am, and supported a lot of VP squadrons. My ex husband was a career P3 flight engineer. VP6, VP47, VQ1 and 2.
I didnt laugh at all. I run with a belly dancer and I find it fascinating. And the costumes are beautiful!
There are good ways to dress up a pair of jeans. I am just trying to find my style. The celebrities I like are Courteny Cox and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Thanks,
Laurie
I like your hair style. Its feminine and short at the same time. Thats what I need.
So I went shopping today with the kids (12 and 17). I have this stick teenage boy figure to make it worse. So I try on a dress and look in the mirror and see a teenaged boy in a dress. I look like a 18 year old transvestite. I dont know if I should laugh or cry.
I found there are good ways to dress up jeans. If I get rid of the tucked in camp style button of shirts and find something sleeveless and a little more form fitting that it looks 100% more feminine.
I am getting there. I'm not a hopeless case.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Laurie
You sound really fun and wholesome.
I think every person needs to have their own personal style. Maybe you can find a younger person to help you shop? Someone who is one of those types to just have a flair for putting things together without spending a lot of money.
Contrast can be good - if you like jeans, why not a camisole with a little lace on the top - it can be by itself or under another one that is more plain on top? Of if you like t-shirts - put one with a sassy skirt or the longer shorts they have now. And yes, dresses are important - they look great with inexpensive summer sandals that are comfortable. And just a touch of simple jewelry that matches is good. I think that a well put together outfit - where everything matches - is superb no matter the fashion - it just has to make you feel good. Hair is important - to blow dry it nice.
I think OldNavy.com has great deals on clothes - and Walmart is great for jewelry and belts and Payless for fun cheap shoes. Those are my online shopping haunts! (Well, Walmart is good while grocery shopping - I always take a tour by the belt shelf on the way to the food section!! )
Oh - you are not a teenage boy in a dress - it is just that THAT dress didn't work!!

Oh I am so getting one of those dresses!
Ooooh. I like that idea. And I need new ones too. Mine are really bad. They are all sports bras and most of them are holy, if you know what I mean.
