His car had broken down and an officer helped him to push it to the side of the road, with his squad car. My brother went to check the bumper and thanked the officer for his help...sayng that there was no damage done...have a great night. He then wakled across the street to get a bit to eat while he waited for AAA. When he returned, there were 4 police cars with lights on surrounding his car.
The officers immediatley surrounded him and began to question him about his bumper and why was he saying something about there being damage. The more the officers harrassed my brother, the more cool and collected he became. Until finally an officer began to push his face into my brother's, calling my brother and ass**** for interrupting him. My brother then replied the officer must be the ass***, since he had, in fact, interrrupted my brother.
All he** broke loose, as the 4 officers began to brutally hit my brother about the head...less bruises show up there...kknocking him to the ground...an officer even put his foot on my brother's neck...as the officers continued to punch and kick him as he lay on the ground.
The etire time my brother was screaming at them, "Why are you doing this to me???"
They then arrested him and charged him with assualting an officer, resisting arrest...and anything else that they could come up with. He was bloody and brusied when they were done with him... finally realizing that they had done so much damage that he needed to be taken to a hospital to receive stiches above his eye. It was only after they returned form the hospital that he was allowed his one phone call...at 3AM.
The other men in the jail informed my brother that he was lucky to have gotten off so lightly...most of them had been beaten far worse..and 2 of them had been unlucky enough to have moved away from that town..and had only returned to see a friend...and were immedialty arressted and beaten for daring to come back to that community.
When the attourney arrived, she confimed what the other inmates had said, and told him to be glad that he wasn't a minority...he would have been hurt far worse.
Of course, there are no witnesses.
So please pray for my brother that these charges will somehow be dropped...and he can move on with his life.
He is only 23...was molested by our bil at the age of 8-10...and just remebered this about a year and a half ago...and has been going through the trauma of having to relive that, tell our sister(fortunately, she had already divorced him years ago)...and her two children. As well as going to court to have my ex-bil charged with this.
He has a beautiful 2 year old daughter...is going to school to be a vet, after volunteering at the animal shelter for 6 months, they finally hired him, and is getting married to the mother of his dd in Jan.
He needs our prayers....he is a great person...who needs to have some good things happen for a change.
Thank you.
His loving sister,
Jennifer

Lot's of prayers for your brother and I am so sorry he will have to deal with our *cough* JUSTICE system. it is a joke.

Thank you. Yes...our system of justice leaves much to be desired. How is it that people who have long criminal records and outstanding warrents are roaming free...and the people who are supposedly "protecting" us are attacking innocent people for thier own perverted jollies?
Makes you want to holler!!!
I'm trying to stay focused on the good things happening in our lives though...and attempting to change the things that I can.
Take care,
Jennifer
We will get through this...
Take care,
Jennifer
Thak you. My father has taken pictures. However, it's my brother's word against 4 officers...and no witnesses.
We shall see. I just want the charges to be dropped...that would be the worst part of all of this, if he wound up having some kind of record!
Thanks again.
Take care,
Jennifer

Thank you. Yes...it's been a horrible experience for him...as well as a stressful time for the rest of us as we are trying to help him in whatever capacity that we can.
Trying to find the "silver lining" in this cloud is a bit difficult; however, he is managing to get by. Have to remember that it's the little things in LIFE that matter...his daughter being the primary focus at the moment, as well as his comittment to the animal shelter.
Thank you for your show of support.
Tanke care,
jennifer
I hope your brother is okay.
