I would vote for a woman if I felt confident in her being right for the position. That doesn't necessarily mean I plan to vote for Hilary Clinton or any other female candidate JUST because she is a woman and I'm all for women being all they can be or do. There is MUCH more to it than that.

I guess I assumed that was the question, Would you vote for a qualified woman? Not just a woman for the sake of voting for a woman. I vote for whomever I feel is the best candidate (mostly, sometimes it is the lesser of two evils).

I personally love Hilary. I just don't know if it is a good time for her to run. I think there are still a lot of people who simply wouldn't vote for her because of her sex and not because of her politics. A same really.

Well, I was starting to catch up on my news reading and was quite surprised to see she is becoming much more likely to run for the Democrats. She has a good standing so far in the polls and a lot of money raised - like $65 million and this is ahead of the other candidates. I think it might be one of those "there is no one better right now" type of things. Furthermore the Republican best candidate has a miserable personal life - he is on his third marriage and has a son who is estranged. I was just wanting to see what everyone here thought of all of that.

I wouldn't not vote for a candidate based soley on gender. I'd also not vote for a candidate simply because she was female. I would vote for the candidate I felt would best lead the nation and stood for the things I'm passionate about.

Moody, who doesn't actually vote all that often

That is good information to know. CNN.com does list personal info - and says that he is on his 3rd marriage and has an estranged son. I just didn't like all that when I read it. I am SURE that the democrats will sling a lot of mud on him if he does run. He is the Republican top choice right now - so not sure how it will all shake out. We need a good leader now more than ever with the issues abroad and at home.

Oh wow - that is a lot of mud to start - I didn't know that about her - I think I was just more shocked at finding out she actually is on the top of the pick for the Democrats. I guess what we have to try to determine is which bad apple has the least amount of brown spots, eh?
