Who's your favorite artist or group?
Seether
Who do you listen to when you're happy, sad or angry?
Happy: Usually Black Eyed Peas "Let's Get it Started" and "Pump it"
Sad: Matchbox 20 "Downfall" or "Push" or Evenescence, (the whole Fallen CD.)
Angry: Nine Inch Nails
What's your favorite "make out" song?
John Mayer "You're Body is a Wonderland"
or Sarah MacLaughlin: "Possesion"
Note, I have NEVER made out to music, but it's on my list of things I HOPE to do someday.
What do you like to listen to on a long drive?
Usually a mix of every type of music since I like all types.
What's "YOUR" song? (The one that makes you feel awesome about yourself)
"Fighter", Christina Agulera (sp)
What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)
I was trying to think up a song that I would like a guy to sing to me for this, and I can't come up with anything, so I might edit later.
"Come what May" from Moulin Rouge was a song a guy once told me reminded him of me.
"Bent" is the one I dedicated to him, (and then a thousand others after that, and now our parting songs are "Broken", Seether and "Where Ever You Will Go." The Calling. All of these still sum up our relationship (both ways) very nicely.
--snow...who Alison just hit on one of her favorite topics! :)
Who's your favorite artist or group?
There are so many right now - hard to say. I love classic rock but also love all of the new stuff. I guess if I had to pick it would be Coldplay.
Who do you listen to when you're happy, sad or angry?
I have an iPod and it is loaded with all of my favorite songs. So I listen to that a lot. It is great for running or when I am troubled about something and need to take my mind off of it.
What's your favorite "make out" song?
Something SLOW. LOL!!
What do you like to listen to on a long drive?
Well, my DS has a DVD player so my music can't go too high. But I do have a collection of favorite CDs including The Stones, Loreena McKennitt, 50cent, VAST, Phil Collins, Fleetwood Mac, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback, Goo Goo Dolls, Ziggy Marly, and more. I like variety! There is also this great classic rock station just north of us so that is always a treat when we are driving up our state.
What's "YOUR" song? (The one that makes you feel awesome about yourself)
Right now it is Coldplay's Speed of Sound.
What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)
The slate is clean right now - ready for a new one!!
Ok, so you totally hit on my favorite topic. I am a music Junkie, and was even a night DJ at a small radio station between Toledo and Detroit for about a year and a half.
Who's your favorite artist or group?
There are just too many to name, I listen to nearly everything, from pop, to classic rock, country, rap, R&B, techno, alternative rock, metal... just about everything.
I am really liking Nickleback's new stuff right now, and Jacen Alden's CD.
Who do you listen to when you're happy, sad or angry?
Happy: Anything that reminds me of summer and the beach, or lake, and hanging out with great friends and family. "6 pack summer" by Phil Vassar, "Redneck Yacht Club" By Craig Morgan, and anything from Kenny Chesney's "Old Blue Chair" CD are a few that come to mind.
Sad: Anything slow, or kinda quiet.
Angry: Usually hard driving metal. Mudvain, Slipknot, Disturbed, stuff like that.
What's your favorite "make out" song?
I Don't have one of these. Probably something really slow or romantic.
What do you like to listen to on a long drive?
My perfect Road Song os ZZ Top, "La Grange." The guitar riffs just remind me of driving with the wondows down, radio cranked up, on a long, open road, and the excitement of the possibility of what's ahead.
What's "YOUR" song? (The one that makes you feel awesome about yourself)
I have a lot of these too. Pat Benetar's "Hit me with your best shot" is the classic, but right now I'm loving Natasha Beddingfield's "Unwritten"
Unwritten Lyrics
I am unwritten,
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned
Chorus:
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words
That you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your INHIBITIONS
Chorus 2:
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Oh, oh, oh
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines
We've been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can't live that way
oh, oh
(Repeat Chorus)
(Repeat Chorus 2 twice)
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
the rest is still unwritten
What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)
This one is totally Blake Shelton's "Nobody but me"
Lyrics for "Nobody but me"
Don't waste your time looking over your shoulder
Those loves from the past ain't getting no closer
When I look in my future you're all I can see (So Honey)
Don't go loving on nobody but me.
Chorus:
Nobody but me gonna love you like you ought to be loved on
Nobody but me gonna cry if you up and leave
You can do what you want to,
But I'm asking pretty please (Honey) Don't go loving on nobody but me.
I took my time to tell you how I feel
Just because I took so long don't mean that it isn't real
I ain't got no diamond, but I'm down on my knees (honey)
Don't go loving on nobody but me.
(Repeat Chorus Twice)
Don't go loving on nobody but me...
Sorrry if this is long. I just love music, and totally beleave that life should have a soundtrack! :)

Ok, off the topic of dating... lets talk about music.- YAY My very very favorite thing (except my kids, who also happen to be very musical, which works out nicely- is it genetics, you think, or am I teaching it to them?)
Who's your favorite artist or group? Well, I love a lot, but I guess ultimately my absolute favorite no matter what would be The Eagles
Who do you listen to when you're happy, sad or angry? happy- dancing music, classic rock mostly- The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues" is great for this... sad- ballads, country a lot of times (depends on why I'm sad, I guess,) but The Eagles' "Wasted Time" is a great old standby... angry- hehee "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks, and "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback....
What's your favorite "make out" song? "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf is a great one
What do you like to listen to on a long drive? I switch it up A LOT, but something sort of fast that I know well... I love George Thoroughgood, Toby Keith, and anything classic
What's "YOUR" song? (The one that makes you feel awesome about yourself)- hmmm "Her Strut" by Bob Seger, and LOL "Honkytonk Badonkadonk" by Trace Adkins
What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)- it WAS "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, but now I don't really like that song much. Music is very powerful to me. I do LOVE their new song, though- "Like We Never Loved at All"
Great thread! Made me think, made me smile, made my day!

Build Me Up Buttercup (The Foundations)
"What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)"
Don't have an "our" song.
I can't believe I almost passed this up. What a great question Alison! I get to talk about my favorite subject, music!
Who's your favorite artist or group?
Without a doubt, my favorite of all time is Def Leppard; Bon Jovi is a close second; and as far as new bands go, my favorite is Nickelback with Three Doors Down as a close second.
Nickelback is opening up for Bon Jovi on a Friday night in July here in Chicago. What an awesome pairing! I'm bummed because I can't go because I have Cub Scout camping that weekend. I just saw Bon Jovi in February, but I've never seen Nicelback, and would love to. Maybe next time. But I did get tickets to see Def Leppard/Journey in July in Chicago. Can't wait!
Who do you listen to when you're happy, sad or angry?
When I'm happy, I listen to whatever band I am in the mood to hear.
When I'm sad, I put on Def Leppard's Slang CD (very dark, but very good). I also like to play "Promises in the Dark" by Pat Benetar. Both of those are good when I need a good cry.
When I'm angry, I put on something hard like Metallica.
What's your favorite "make out" song?
I think the sexiest song ever made is "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard, with "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" by Journey a close second. Those two songs really put me in the mood. As far as making out to music, I recently made out while Nickelback's "For All the Right Reasons" was playing. Song Nos. 2 and 4, "For All The Wrong Reasons" and "Animals" really get me going!
What do you like to listen to on a long drive?
On a long drive, I like to pop in a CD that I like the whole thing and I can listen to the whole way, not just pick songs. Some of my favorites are: Eagles Greatest Hits; Bon Jovi's Crossroads; Vault by Def Leppard; Anything by Nicelback because their last 3 CD are all good.
What's "YOUR" song? (The one that makes you feel awesome about yourself)
Without a doubt, my song is "Only the Strong Survive" by REO Speedwagon. It's extremely insprational. I remember listening to it over and over in my car when I was on my way to my cousin's wedding. This was about 6 years ago, and it was the first time that I was invited to a wedding after my divorce. I didn't have a date, I felt like a big loser, and I didn't even want to go. So I kept playing the song over and over to give me to courage to want to go.
The first line goes like this: "You may not know this, but you are everything you've ever needed, heaven with a touch of New York, silver with a touch of gold". And part of the chorus is "But we'll come back alive, cuz only the strong survive". Excellent song!
What's "our" song? (If you have a SO, or your past SO)
My SO now is a big dead head and likes a lot of music I don't care for, so no, we don't have a song. The only person I had a song with was my exh and it was "I Can't Fight This Feeling" by REO Speedwagon. He got down on his knees at our wedding reception and sang "My Girl" by the Temptations while all the groomsmen danced and sang in the background. It was a riot!
Donna
Donna--just a note,
I live in a teeny tiny city. There are about 14,000 people here. Before I moved back here, my mom was eating in our Applebees (yes, it's the ONLY place to eat here! ;) )
and there was this big crowd around one of the tables. My mom asked the waitress what was going on--turns out freakin' Chad Kroger and the band stopped there for lunch!!!!
She proudly has his autograph on an Applebee's napkin under the glass top of one of the inn tables in her living room. I was SO jealous. I LOVE Nickleback, Seether, Disturbed, Stand, etc... though I like all types, alternative rock is my fave. I can't get enough of Animals, I am surprised I haven't burned up the CD! :)
They also went acrossed the street to our WalMart and complained to the manager because none of their CD's were stocked. (Our particular WalMart is terrible and that's being nice.)
Still Chad Kroger eating at our Applebees and my mom was there! How cool is that!
--snow, Applebee's Stalker!! :P
There's another one, and I just googled it, it has TWO colleges, one of them IVY-League, and it only has 28,000 people.
I am not complaining, just saying to me, Applebee's is a happening place! The only good thing about my two nearby cities, is that since there are colleges in both of them, there are places to eat. Nothing else to do, (well, lots of bars, too) but lots of places to eat.

Going totally off topic...
LOL! I know!! I live in a college town too. I moved here from St. Louis which is just obnoxious and it was a HUGE change for me--both good and bad. :) Although I couldn't even fathom living in a bigger city, I was overwhelmed in St.L with the amount of people. And everyone seemed so busy and crabby all the time there. I love not having to wait in a super huge line everywhere and how the people at the store actually TALK to you and smile like you are a real person. ;) There was also not an issue about getting opening night tickets to Star Wars--or front row parking at our theater. :)
I can't imagine living in a town of only 600!! It's like you would know EVERYONE!!

Uh, yeah. Which is why I'm doing the whole OLD thing. If I don't know them, my parents do. Literally.
I was on a date with a guy, and since I kept my married name, he didn't know my maiden name until I told him. Suddenly he says, oh are you related to ____, I'm like, uh yeah, he's my dad. Then he says, oh he was my brother's best friend in high school.... WTH?!
The guy was not THAT much older than me (although to be fair, my parents are VERY young, and I tend to date older guys)!!! What?! That was a little creepy, let me tell you!
