QOTW: Is Love a Verb?

Until recently, I believed that love was a feeling only. I watched a movie last night called The Last Kiss. One of the idea of the movie was that you can "say" how you feel about someone and you can feel it inside. But it does not mean anything of you don't show it, and practice being in love, by doing what it takes.

Do you think love is a verb?

In what ways do you "do" love.. what kinds of things do you "do" in love.

What kind of things does your partner do, or you desire from them, that is an act of love?

I was skimming through “The Seven Levels of Intimacy: The Art of Loving and the Joy of Being Loved” by Matthew Kelly.

I love that e.e. cummings quote!

You reminded me of what Cute Widow did for me before my 100 Km bike ride.

I'm glad you wrote examples of how you put love into action for your kids. I love dd by making her first consideration when making decisions. I love her by giving her extra hugs at night at bed time. I show her love by sewing the halloween costume yearly..I am not good at sewing but she loves it when I do this.

Great post idea Pac!!!

For me, it's spending time together and doing stuff together. I know that ds won't remember the toys he was bought for xmas every year- he's going to remember going camping or fishing or putting up the xmas tree while singing carols. He's a total snuggle bunny, and so am I... so often we're snuggled on the couch watching tv or cuddling in bed on saturday morning before we get up- he loves to come in when the alarm goes off and we have snuggle time. In the last few months, I've started leaving him at home while I go out to meet a friend for coffee or get groceries... and often he'll call my cell "just to say I love you". TOO cute!

With a partner, it's the same: doing stuff together. S was over this weekend, and we went to the grocery store to get a few things for dinner (made chicken instead of turkey, since I had a huge chicken in my freezer I needed to use up). As soon as we got home, he was in the kitchen putting stuff away and asking what he could do.

He's also the one that puts the coffee on when we're together. He rubs my feet when we sit down together. He'll put his hand on my knee in the car. He runs his fingers through my hair... and he'll kiss me on the forehead.

Ok, now I want to see him again! LOL!
