Uh, no. Been there-done that. I have no need for a piece of paper tying me financially to someone else. A committed, exclusive relationship is fine, living in separate houses is fine. But what works for me may not work for someone else. I like being independent.
I have these very good friends who I hope to follow their lead. They dated/lived together for about 8 years (both had been married before) before they got married. The emphasis was not on marriage as much as on companionship and being each others best friend and lover. To this day they are the happiest couple I know.
I would like that. To date and be together for however long..no expectation to get married. Because I have already been married once (had the wedding, did all that) I don't feel the need to necessarily do it again. But if it happens it will be because it just feels like the right thing to do sometime I guess. It certainly would not ba anything fancy. I can visualize more of a barefoot ceremony on the beach with a few close friends. Way down the road, if at all.
I am right there with you!! I am happy with being single. If I am not mistaken you were married for quite awhile too. I like my independence and freedom. I may change my mind once my kids are grown, but I don't see my feelings changing before that. Stephanie

Do you want to be married (again)?
I see myself getting married.

Eventually yes. I'm not in any hurry about it though.
Just have to find someone who I love and who can pass a psych evaluation.

Having BTDT, I don't feel the urge to get married again.
