I am really looking forward to 2008 since my litigations are over regarding custody modifications and my crazy ex has calmed down for the time being. No contact except through the court ordered web site has been a God send! I HATE drama and am really hoping for alot less of it in 2008!

I'm kid free and work free.
Well, I have a few goals for 2008:
keep DS going well in school and with his athletics - he just made the volleyball team for school and I like that a great deal. He wants to join the city football team so we may do that for the summer. I am not crazy about football - but he is so I figured why not?
pay off debt - I am currently working on the travel/race/fun schedule for the year in such a way that I don't spend so much as I have in year's past. I need to put more money into paying off debt so I can get rid of it. I also want a new bike - so have to put a budget in place instead of flying by the seat of my pants.
networking/socializing - since I do work out of the house I feel I need to work harder on developing a great network of friends so I have more to do socially. The alumni thing has been great and I am really working harder at staying in touch with everyone around here. Last night I did meet a very nice single dad who is an attorney however he seems a bit overwhelmed with his life with working and seeing his son who lives 2 hours away. He has only dated one person in his 6 years of being divorced and he did not ask for my number - although he did give me his web address and it seemed that he wanted to but was too shy. I did visit his website and was going to email him but there is no email address or link for that on his site. So, he will have to wait til we run into each other the next time. Even if nothing comes of it, it was really refreshing to meet such a nice single person at the alumni party. I thought - what a really nice family guy who has his priorities in order and was a quality person to talk to.
dating - I feel that the one positive thing that MA gave me was to DATE UP. No more dead end types who are below me with regards to education, work, interests and things like that which I feel I have been meeting online. One great thing I did when starting to date MA was to vastly improve my wardrobe. And so now I am going to put it to good use - get out more, look good, and have a higher standard for who I meet and date. I want a nice guy who can bring something to the table as I can for him. I am also going to challenge myself to date without OLD for now. It means working harder at getting out of the house and making it easier for MRRight to find me.
Edited to add: I have no idea what I am doing for NYE - DS is away with his dad and so it might be me and the pups but I may also do something with friends. Will keep you all posted!

I am still leaving my options open for New Years...I was invited to a friends house but I am still holding out for an invite from a guy--if that doesn't pan out going to my friends will be fine (I just hate being the only single person there which is what generally happens).
I am very big on goals and lists and things and I have decided to put a hold on that for a bit and just be happy.

My DD and I are spending NYE with some of my family members like we did last year. It was a fun night of playing cards, Scene It, eating a bunch of junk, and just acting silly in general.
As far 2008, I just want to get through it with my DD safe and sound without a lot damage to our relationship. This will probably be my goal for the next 4 years I'm sure. lol As far as dating, if someone's out there, I'm sure they'll find me. I'm not going out of my way too much to beat the bushes.
Right now I don't have any definite plans for NYE.
No plans for NYE.
This New Year's, I will have one of my DD's.
