Okay - a new one came in from eharmony. And I thought his profile to be quite good - which is a refreshing change. And he wants me to answer those EH questions - which is amusing to me.
Anyway, here is his profile:
The "About Me" information below will help you learn more about WriterLawyer. When you are finished reading, answer his questions and get to know him better.
The one thing WriterLawyer is most passionate about:
* My passion for life extends to everything that I do. NOTHING is done dispassionately--if it's worth doing, I believe that it's worth doing with care and dedication. I also have the unique talent & ability to love people just exactly as they are--not some other way that I'd prefer them to be.
The three things which WriterLawyer is most thankful for:
* The love and support of great family and friends has been most nourishing always. Through the best and the worst of times they have loved me without condition or judgment. What an incredible gift!
* Never feeling the least bit jealous or envious is a great comfort to me and shows others a true indicator of my character. I am genuinely VERY happy for others when things go well for them.
* I've been loved as a parent, as a friend, as a teacher, and as a lover, filling the hearts of some amazingly remarkable people.
The most influential person in WriterLawyer's life has been:
* My late wife is easily the most influential person in my life. She was the kindest, most other-oriented human being that I've ever known, wasn't too impressed by her own breathtaking beauty, & she unconditionally loved me so profoundly that I could practically touch it. Another one of the most influential people whom I've known is my former Journalism professor. He insisted upon using language accurately as a way of refining your thinking and your entire life. Despite a crusty British demeanor, he was a kind, compassionate soul, & held his friends dear. From him I learned to be forever humble in search of knowledge.
WriterLawyer's friends describe him as:
* Kind
* Warm
* Funny
* Romantic
Three of WriterLawyer's best life-skills are:
* Creating romance in a relationship
* Remaining calm yet resilient during a crisis
* Communicating my innermost thoughts and feelings
The most important thing WriterLawyer is looking for in a person is:
* Pre-requisites are kindness, empathy, humor, and intelligence. The rest is just seasoning to personal taste.
The first thing you'll probably notice about WriterLawyer when you meet him:
* The obvious fact that I look, think and act much younger than my chronological age. After that: my smile; my sense of humor; my intuitive nature; my kindness toward & empathy for others; and that chivalry's not dead as far as I'm concerned.
The one thing WriterLawyer wishes MORE people would notice about him is:
* How kind and compassionate that I am, despite the fact that I have a tough, take-charge, self-sufficient, NYC wiseass veneer on the outside.
WriterLawyer typically spends his leisure time:
* Hiking/biking, learning, laughing, reading, cooking, watching a movie or TV, diving, going to comedy clubs, working out, whitewater kayaking/rafting, avoiding the FHP on the Turnpike.
The things WriterLawyer can't live without are:
* Strong connections with family & friends;
* Profoundly hot lovemaking with a woman I adore;
* Music & Humor;
* Books & Movies;
* The kindness of strangers. Yes, that's 7. So what?
The last book WriterLawyer read and enjoyed:
* Fiction: 1) "A Good Year," by Peter Mayle. It was just a delightful story about values and choices--a pretty good movie as well; 2) "The Life of Pi" Was a uniquely enchanting, escapist novel with a philosophical bent. Reminded me of Joseph Conrad, but not as layered as Conrad's writing. Non-fiction: "Hatred's Kingdom" by Dore Gold. A political and historical analysis of Saudi Arabia and Wahabbist Islam.
One thing that only WriterLawyer's best friends know is:
* I'm the parent that they all wish that they'd had: I raised my two older kids from their ages 7 & 11 alone as a single parent (their mother abandoned her life for a new one) for years, until I remarried--all while building a successful career as a trial lawyer & graduate school instructor. I've also become both Daddy AND Mommy for my now 18 & 20 y/o daughters since their Mom died (I DESPISE the term "step-daughters" & NEVER use it. They're children of my heart.) They've lived w/their biological father for the past 8 yrs, but I'm still their only REAL parent--the one they lovingly call Daddy. I speak w/them, & we see each other, very often.
Some additional information WriterLawyer wanted you to know is:
* That I'm widowed (8 yrs) not divorced, so I'm a recent veteran of a GOOD relationship, not one that I couldn't wait to ditch. I've got a soft spot for Southern, Midwestern, and kind, smart, & verbally adept women. I've acquired an ample set of relationship skills along the way. Amongst the things that I've learned: It's not important to be right all of the time--even if you're right; don't take everything personally--sometimes it's just NOT about you; NEVER keep score, nor ration your efforts; don't harbor a grudge EVER. Some conflict is inevitable when two independent people share a relationship, and making up is SO very delicious.

Well, I'm glad MT.Everest is still calling, although I'm tempted to give him the boot soon, since he really hasn't made much attempt at scheduling another date- I mean I know YOU are busy, but you MAKE the time to date... so can he!
I used to get ALL into the online dating thing, but now I find it sooo boring.
The reason I mentioned that the lawyer guy might have not been ready, because he wrote the word "recently". When pertaining to his wife. That is a PRETTY broad word in my book. Recent could be a few days, weeks, months, a year? And how he wrote it. Ya know?
I'm enjoying my singlehood more and more the older I get and the longer I stay single. It's not so important if someone wrote me on match.com or not. And I don't check all day either. I get tired of the constant back and forth of answering tedious questions. LOL
