The view was as if the baby were sitting on a glass table and we were underneath.
It's a....
GIRL!!!
Shane and I are thrilled and of course, Dylan was right all along. He's so happy he's having a baby sister. She's growing perfectly and we saw all parts of her little body. She's just perfect. Everything is developing on time. I've gained 6 pounds so not bad. And that is just in the last 3 weeks. I wanted to share this with all of you!
So we will welcome little Emily Christine near Tax Day, 2005!

Congratulations!!!
I voted "girl" too!

AW! MEL, that sounds great!!! I'm glad Shane came along as well. I know how you've been feeling down lately. I wanted to write you post in regards to that, but haven't had a chance here at work. Just got back yesterday for the first time in two weeks since my B-day and it might not even be up to date if he's showing up at the doctor appointments now.
So, let me know how you are doing and feeling. I think of you often. Will be living in Texas in about 18 months. How far are you from San Antonio? Just checking. LOL. Can always do with a friend when I go back stateside.
Hugs,
Catherine
Mel:
Congratulations. I'm glad to hear the good news. Emily (very pretty name) is so lucky to have an older brother. I always wished I had an older brother because I have 3 older sisters and a younger sister. I'm sure Dylan will be very protective of his little sis!

Congratulations, Mel, Shane and Dylan!!!!
I'm feeling good. Just getting more uncomfortable. I've gained 6 pounds in the last 3 weeks, BUT that all I've gained in the pregnancy, so it isn't bad and I'm half done.
Shane and I had been arguing a bunch over the past two weeks and I was very down. I just want it all to work out and I know that we both love each other, so it can work if we want it to. He's been stressed at work and I've been feeling very alone in the pregnancy. But I got a good reason from him FINALLY last night. It isn't that he isn't excited. He's thrilled and he says he woldn't have it any other way. A daughter is a dream come true for him. He's very happy about the news, but he never thought this would happen for him and he's still getting used to it. He had some problems as a child that caused him to believe he'd never be a father. Of course, now he knows it's all just fears he had and nothing more. But he's got to get used to it.
As for San Antonio, it's about 4 hours from us. I'm in East Texas right on I-20. SA is a nice town. Great history there. You'll enjoy it. And who know when our paths will cross. Shane is very much into sticking to living in Texas and loves the history here, so we will most likely travel to SA before long. I'm sure he will want to share lots of stuff with the kids. Maybe we'll get to meet after all!
