OK so I happen to KNOW that SYB asked my Dad for my hand in marriage on Tuesday. I heard the tail end of the conversation and read their lips from afar for the beginning of the conversation. The beginning was something about the next step and the end was my Dad saying "your secret is safe with me" SYB had told me he was going to ask him soon and that he wants this to happen before next year but I didnt know he meant actual business until now. He admitted it yesterday over breakfast and my father is doing a good job of trying to keep his mouth shut.
I am excited and since SYB is adamant about a ring I started thinking about it and dreaming. A girl can dream right?
So here are my favs below. So what do you think? ( am I posting this in the right section btw? We are still dating right?lol)

Congratulations!!! First of all, you can't go wrong with any of them. They are gorgeous. That said, I think the first one is a little more unique which makes me think of you.

THANKS!
He was smiling as he left when he saw I was looking. I cant let the man go pick on his own, you know?
And it may not happen for a few months or so but I feel it now and it is happening!!
He is flirting with babies and looking at life insurance and all sorts of stuff. LOL
It is AWESOME and heartwarming.
We have been so stressed with house stuff even though we are happy and today we had a real heart to heart about him seeing a counselor about losing his parents and some of the sister issues. He was very open and has such humility. I told him I want us both to be at our strongest individual and joint juncture before we get engaged or married and start making babies. It was hard for me to bring up honestly but I have thought long and hard about it how to approach and I ended up telling him that I hoped he was open to seeing someone eventually not because I thought anything was wrong with him but because of how much I treasured everything that is so right. We both cried a little and something shifted somehow. We have both had our struggles but he is so forward thinking and I can just feel us on the cusp of great things all around. It is such an exciting time. This is the closest I have ever been to something this great and it has an electricity to it almost.
I bet YOU are feeling similar things Pac!

Thanks!!I do like all of them - the first one really made me light up when I first saw it and the others got similar reactions but not quite as much. Of course I havent tried on any either so that might change things. I need to figure out where her designs are sold. They are all really interesting and beautiful to be honest. I would love to see the collection up close at some point.

Ok I havent packed anything yet. I dont think I can put it off much longer but overseeing the contractor work has taken all of my free time. They are done tomorrow so then I can get started. I also cant WAIT to get painting!
DS is thriving. He was doing a homework assignment on a book they are reading which deals with racism. He wrote a paragraph that was startlingly honest about how he feels in the new neighborhood with all of the teens who live there who are African American and no younger kids seen out yet. We are the minority and although the neighborhood is changing fast it is a palpable switch for him. He said at the end of his paragraph how his plan was to make a habit of saying "hello" and "how are you" to people each time he passed ANYONE on the street until he got used to things because he saw us doing it. I was so proud of him when I read that!
