My info:

- your age: 44
- your kids and their ages: DD14
- your approx location: Missouri Bootheel

- are you not dating/ looking to date/ dating/ engaged /married: In between the not dating/looking to date categories.

- about you - work/hobbies: I'm a legal secretary for a sole practicing attorney whom I have worked with for 17 years. My hobbies include reading (Stephen King rocks!), movies and working on my house.

- what do you want for the new year: UGH! After reading everyone's post so far it feels like I need to list an exercise routine in here somewhere! lol But for now, I think I'm just going to say to stop smoking. I have tried numerous times in the last five years and have blown it every time. On the 7th of this month, I have put myself on a smoking schedule and have slipped one time the whole week. By doing this I have cut my smoking in half. Tomorrow, I'm going to bump up my time between smokes and stay on that one next week.

Ah, smoking! I have tried several times to quit. I can go for MONTHS but as soon as something stresses me, I'll pick it up again. Usually a break up does it. I smoked every time Nascar stressed me out and I hated it. Yesterday I smoked one cig, because of Nascars email, but then stopped again today. I hate that I can get someone to stress me out so much that I feel I have to reach a cig.

OK, you got me spewing Diet Coke with this ski texas icon.

And Shrimps, x-country skiing is on flat land, it's like walking/hiking.(just like Soonee's texas ski icon) The flying down the mountain stuff I mostly do is alpine/downhill skiing- see very literal names. If one can ice skate, one can learn to downhill ski, the motion is similar. There actually is a ski area here in Tucson at the top of Mt. Lemmon. I've never been able to get up there when there's been enough snow for it to be open. We rarely have snow on the ground here in town for more than a few hours.

My S19 has discovered telemark skiing. It is apparently a brutal workout for the legs. I don't get the attraction.

QueenBun, whose legs will be in shape before her next ski trip in Feb.(well, as long as I don't answer the door when those Girl Scouts show up with those addictive cookies- shouldn't they be regulated or something?)

I love downhill except that sometimes being so vertical scares the heck out of me and also you sometimes can't tell if you're going to hit an ice patch until you hit one.

Hey, M spent, or perhaps misspent, his early 20's working at Mt. Snow in VT. He is soooo jealous of my S19 working Deer Valley. Yes, Utah is quite rightly, the best snow on earth. But I learned to ski back East so my technique, very edgy, is more appropriate for the slick and hard pack, NOT the thigh deep powder.
