Salvaging botched plans.....Again.

Hi All,

Well, I've been stood up again. Of course I will recover. But I wouldn't have guessed it would be from my 22 yr old sweetie. Here's what happened.. I got a call from him late Saturday. He wanted to get together, asked me to call him back on Sunday to make arrangements. Probably just watching a movie at his house. I call him Sunday at 4pm and said I'd come over around 9 pm. Sounds great. See ya then, he said.

But when I get to his house.... No one is home. How awful was that?? But what made it worse was that I left my phone with the babysitter. So, I couldn't call him and find out where he was. At first I thought maybe we wanted to meet somewhere else and I missed the call because I didn't have my phone. Or maybe he was just at the store. But without my phone, there was no way for me to know what was up...

So I waited a little while. But then went home to get my phone. The babysitter had already made plans with her money (and probably didn't want to give it back) so she said "still go out and have a good time." At first I thought, where can I go on a sunday night. It's not really happening anywhere. But I went to my favorite karaoke bar and thought the least I can do is sing A LOT since it will be fairly empty. He never did call me back. How lame. (but maybe he will have a good excuse...did he fall asleep, go out somewhere and forgot his phone, or did he simply find something else to do and didn't bother to call me?)

Did I have a good time... well, I salvaged the night. Ended up giving my phone number to an older guy for a change. But dispite being a little edgey/fiesty I laughed and sang with the small crowd that was there... And told everyone I was stood up. I did get a couple free drinks out of it.

Right up front I told everyone about my 5 children. hehehe. And did you know that one guy complimented me on my anatomy. lol. And also the guys were amazed at how well I look after 5 children. I joked "you're right I should be proud" I should be saying look at this body and I bet you can't tell I've had 5 children.LOL. And the guy I gave my number to said he dated a woman with 5 kids before. His name is Ben. 38. never married. no children of his own but mentioned quasi step-children from his previous relationships with single moms. If he calls and we go out at least it will be a change from the younger guys I've gone out with lately. It's all good.

Hope you enjoyed reading the scoops.

You did a great job to salvage your evening. Sorry that guy didn't call - will be curious to see what he says.

I have my fingers crossed that Ben will call. Please keep us posted!

Thanks for the encouragement.

I shouldn't take for granted that I still ended up having a good time for ME. The old me would have spent the night crying. But I'm so thankful that the new me can take things in stride.
