So friday morning I met my trainer and she had me go through a routine: chest, biceps, shoulders, abs and butt.

That first time is shocking, but I got to the point I liked the feel of sore muscles, it let me know I had done some hard work!

Heee Heeee Im suffering the same plight my dear! gotta fit in my wedding dress that I purposely bought a size smaller!!
Im taking a class on Mondays and Wednesdays called tighten and tone - which is a mix of cardio and strength training...we use the ball, the bands, the step, hand weights, and bar weight as well... I have woke up a few mornings in the last few weeks with muscles that are pissed off that I woke them up after all these years !!

PS I think Ive seen you lurking on the wedding boards my dear... are you engaged too????

Great going!! Nothing like sore muscles to tell you it was a great workout - but you will be surprised at how fast you gain strength!!

I think setting a goal works really well - this is great that you want to get in shape; you found a trainer to motivate/teach/guide you; and you are getting up early to DO it!!

Setting goals really works. This year my son has gotten 2nd honors for the first 2 quarters. I really believe he is capable of 1st. So I encouraged him to set that goal for himself and really for me, too, to help push him to that level.

Now when he does homework he has to work harder not just to get it done but to get it done accurately and neatly. I am a stickler for every question. And I have made studying more fun where I help him think of creative ways to remember tough things. We study at night and in the morning with the study guide in his bed. I really think he is enjoying all this attention and I am enjoying a refresher in English, math and history!!

Well, it is paying off. He just came home with an interim report that has every grade, except one, over a 93.

I also know for myself that if I sign up for a race that I work very hard to get in shape for it.

It is so good that you set this example for everyone and we will enjoy hearing your stories along the way.
