Hey loony I run a dog group. When a new person shows at a meetup I frequently will do a shout out telling them thanks for showing. It isnt a private message and everyone can see it. So I would do that for everyone as a rule and then he will see you are being nice to him int he same way as everyone else. He may even feel a little pitter patter before he realizes you sent similar messages to anyone else who showed too. I wouldnt do anything beyond that at this point because you are leading the group in a way and you dont want to get a rep for chasing anyone in particular on the site. Now if he ever gives you his email or phone number, thats another story in my book!

see now... i was going to do that the next day as a friendly greeting to the two people who came.. BUT i thought that it would soooo obviously look like i was flirting or being aggressive (since he prob knows he's a hottie)... but i refrained .. hoping he'd send me a greeting... BUt being that he's a new member, he may not even know about greetings ect... duh. BUT i thought i'd wait to see if he rsvp'ed to another upcoming event and he hasn't yet....

I'm such a lame-o.... and i have posted silly \ friendly greetings (like to Crotch Dude) before... those public greetings can be soo funny.....

Cant you still send it even now but to everyone who came and in very similar if not exact wording. It is good etiquette as far as meetup goes and nobody will blink the wrong way at that IMO. That way you are doing right with the group and not letting your attraction for this one guy effect how you behave in general with everyone. There will be another opportunity for you to make a move on him if you want to but for now I would play it neutral and make sure you show him he is being regarded like everyone else. He is probably used to girls falling all over him if he is a hottie so maybe that will peak his interest a bit to see you just lumping him in with everyone else!

As the organizer, you should be posting a greeting to everyone who does show up to make them feel welcomed and encourage them to return. So, do post a message to hottie- but don't make it any different than the messages you post to the others welcoming them. The only difference that WOULD be acceptable is to tailor each message to the person if there was something that stood out- like the interesting hat they wore, the funny jokes they told or how well they belted out a song.

If hottie is interested in you, he knows where he can run into you again.

I think sending a "thanks for coming" was the right thing to do. Just try & treat the hotties the same as everyone else ....... well at least in your "official" capacity :o)

good for you Loony!!!
SYb and I love love love our mastiff group! It is so fun and we always have a great time meeting new people together. I think your Rock Band idea is great and I wonder whether you couldnt even make certain meetups just for certain eras. Like an 80's meeetup with a cool title or maybe even a 70's one if there are any songs in there that you like. You could even post song suggestions and then when you all show up as your group you will meet members from your group that love that era specifically or just broaden your ranges together. It might allow you to meet more members eventually since we all have our favs I think.
We always have fun or funny names for our meetup. Here are some of our past meetup names:
Drool Derby
Shake and Bake ( that was the one from a week ago because we took them swimming in the heat)
BirthBAYWATCH for Monty's birthday party last year
Spring Fling
You get the idea......we also started a thing where if you have a puppy under 5 months you can bring them to a meet and greet an hour before the giant dogs come in and we call that Puppy Power Hour.
I think stuff like this has really got their attention and gained us members. We have 156 members now!

You are such a fun spirit - I think you are going to love leading the group!
