This weekend my DS announced that he wanted to take the puppies to the beach. Fortunately I do know of a beach where you can take dogs - so that is what we did.
He and the big puppy had so much fun. The big puppy LOVES the water and is a great swimmer - could go all the way to China I think. And DS latched onto him - the big puppy took him for a wonderful ride all around the water. I had fun with playing fetch with the smaller puppy.
You know, I could have spent a whole lot more money and fuss on trying to get a family activity for us - but this was really free. Took up a good part of the day. Everyone slept so well after that.
And DS made me the cutest thank you card - it said thank you for taking us to the beach. It was signed by him and stamped with 2 dirty paw prints from the puppies. That was so sweet.
I think that it is so great to have a day like that - our house is still a little dirty - but we made such a memory this weekend!!
What do you and your kids do for simple, cheap fun together?

We go to the park :D its right down the street and she LOVES it there :D She was the first one on the new playground equipment when they put it in ...yayyy Eve! :D lol
Also..were in a playgroup that I Dont make it too that often..lol but that is free and she loves that too :D
Sheesh
We go for a walk in the woods, bake cookies, or just pop in a movie. We're also pretty musical, so there's almost always music on here, and lots of boogey-ing to the beat, no matter what we're doing.
I'm big on trying to show the kids that fun can be free, so I try to do something free or low cost as often as possible, and we usually have as much fun or more when I don't do something costly.
Moody- all about saving money, not smiles!

Yeah, so I asked Nicolas what he would ask for from a genie.
I did get one for my DS - so he could call me when he visits the xinlaws - he loves it - and I love it - cannot imagine life without it. We stay in touch no matter where he is - and he has gotten good at text messaging, too. Plus it teaches him responsibility to keep track of it and keep it charged. PLUS the best part is that my exh (his dad) calls him on his cell phone so I rarely have to talk to him!!! :-)
So it really is a good thing. I think I pay like 9.99 for it - on a family plan - and our minutes to each other are free.
