Snapshot of the Match scene

Okay girls.....

I was telling Alison this morning about how I had 14 emails in the match box, not really any of which I liked. No surprise. Part of that is my age and location. I am into the healthy lifestyle thing and don't really like long distance type things. So that nixes a lot. But she said I should post an update for what I found.

I explained to her and here as well that it takes about a month for me to get an email that I like. But some just downright gave me a laugh, and I had to share in case any one wants a laugh for a Monday. It is just that you have to have a sense of humor for OLD or you will get plumb sick of it.

Italianstallion - this dude has a picture of him in a bathrobe. I was laughing so hard out loud when I saw that one. He writes he loves my pic and wants to talk to me right now!! DELETE!

WayTooYoung - this one is 14 years younger and new to match. DELETE!

TooYoung - this one is 11 years younger and new to match and too far away. DELETE.

copwhowantsakid - this one is a tad younger and I think I am burned out on civil servants for now after the lifeguard and fireman plus he indicates he is never married and wants 1 kid. My oven is closed since I am 45 and I don't want a fling. DELETE!

Tooold - this one is like 10 years older, too far away and no common interests. DELETE!

52nevermarried narcissist - this one sends me his myspace link and a description of his beach workout - Yantra Yoga, riding a mountain bike and urban calistenics and writes all about him. Never married at 52? I don't think so and I don't like your myspace account either buddy - it has a lot of modeling shots. DELETE!

47 and never married - I think he smokes cigars, too. DELETE.

So, I am safe. There was one who plays tennis and has his own biz and we might meet for coffee. But my hopes are not up. And I am very busy right now. Which keeps me safe. LOL!! I made the mistake of telling the PE teacher at school that I would help him with the boys' running team because they have a big race coming up and he put me in charge of the new cross country running team and club at school. Okay - I better call the other parents and get more volunteers!!

I was thinking I might just give match a try for 2 months and if nothing pans out I am going to stop it because I will have a lot of training to do starting the first of the year for the big race and it is so distracting. I think if I have a deadline I can do it for a bit because I know it won't go on and on.

Yes. I am sitting here ready for the date.

Took a different tact today. Since it is coffee on a work day, he gets plain jane!! Khaki pants and polo top, light makeup, hair up. I could be a work colleague....

AND he does get one brownie point. He called 30 minutes in advance to say he is going to be 10 minutes late. That shows he is considerate.

But in person is really what matters so all of this imagination premeeting rhetoric is just that - a bunch of mumbo jumbo til you meet in person. The most fun is that I get to come back and write a story for all of you girls - that makes it fun for me!! It is not like I could present such matters for the PRO committee at school you know!! LOL!!!!!! :-D

Wow!!! I read through the thread. You were right to get rid of him. I can't imagine going to someone's house for dinner, showing up late and bringing my household chores with me. I can't even imagine what he must have been thinking. Why not just call and say, I'm really not up for it tonight. I'm going to stay in. I think that would have been a much better solution. I am not very good at waiting on people either. I hate when someone is late and I hate to be late myself. It is so rude to keep people waiting.

Good for you!!!

My guess is you will look gorgeous even if you're tying to pull off plain jane!!!

And yup, our favorite part is that you get to come back and write a story for us, too!

Yes, Priscilla, that is exactly it. AND he looked so shabby he embarrassed me - it was like someone threw a wet rag over my head when they walked in the door.

He had 2 days off work to stay at home and get stuff done prior to this. And he knew he should get there earlier - he said he would.

I worked my butt off all day and was too tired to make dinner. So I know I was less patient and more tired and wanted the help, not to wipe up after him with his drink mix and have my laundry in a heap because his wanted to go in and run the dryer endlessly on air fluff. That irritated the you know what out of me.
