Good news, R! Good luck and keep us posted. They both write nice things to you and that is a great start.

I just had a thought. Avery might have more fun with the college girls, but I am betting they would not be near as dependable or long term as the older lady. I have had college girls as sitters and part time helpers here and while they are wonderful, they are prone to days where they can't come because of big projects and tests and a social life.

Aha - well that is a big factor. My son was always the same way - he had to warm up and he needed someone very warm and fuzzy and friendly in his earlier days.

Perhaps the college student that gets it can be the warm and fuzzy one that has backup friends for when she can't come? Or you can keep all of their numbers on hand!! LOL!!

You need the type that will make hot chocolate and sleep on the floor with her and the dogs - stuff like that - college kids are like fun camp leaders most of the time. The ones I have used to sneak food treats in for him and generally spoiled him rotten with custom made smoothies and all sorts of mania I had no patience for.

Although I did have one exception - it was a girl I had to actually fire - because she was very flip and rude - would come up with the most brash inappropriate things to say and was totally afraid of getting dirty or messy - which is bad when you have an active boy.

It sounds like you are having a great week!!! Dates and sitters from all directions. It will be nice to have so many choices. As for the sitters, I think I would interview and pick a main sitter from the college students. I don't know if you have regularly scheduled shift or if they vary from week to week, but I think I would let the students know that you need notice if they will be tied up. I can't imagine that anything they might need to do school wise would require them to have a night off. They can certainly read at your house as well as anywhere else and I'm sure Averey is portable enough to take to the library. But in any event maybe ask the older lady if she could be an emergency back up. That way you are pretty covered.

Have fun on the dates!!!
