ok, i have never been on a date before. I only started e-mailing and talking on the phone with a guy i met on POF. He is away working but we will meet in 2 weeks.

But....when we talked on the phone the 2nd time..he brings up his ex, and tells me a little bit of their problems, and what she does to aggravate him, and all the thigns he has done for her..blah blah...

Why is is telling me this? He doesn't even know me..? Does he think i want to hear that?

Also he told me that his ex won't let him have the family dog because she thinks he is mean to it...

Tingle..tingle..tingle..

ok,, thanks guys,,,LOL

I do get the message now. I think maybe I am a little ..i don't wanna say desperate...but since it will be my first date with anyone...maybe i felt like i should go because i can't be too picky. I am 38 years old...and can you really find someone without any baggage?

That is probably hard to do. But yes the animal thing bothered me. My ex was mean to our animals and I know how that is. The dogs were not only submissive, but sort of "wrecked" in their heads because they were so afraid of him.

Anyway,,,old stuff. I love to read about "good" dates...you ladies have had..it gives me some hope.

Nothing wrong with waiting for a better match.

Well, if you really want to date, then there is something to be said for going on a practice interview.

thanks, Soonee!

And on that topic- I've never seen anything good come out of it where some one goes into a new date talking about their ex, or how their ex "is no longer a factor". I mean, if they are not a facor why bring it up off the bat? Alison just went through this on

I did just request that to the powers that be - will see what they say. Not sure how hard that is to do for a board, logistically speaking.
