Ok...this is not a dating question but I have a concern to pose to experienced parents.

I think all you have to do is read the news and your fears are valid. It doesn't sound like they are preventing you from doing normal things.
I would teach him to stay with mom and not leave mom without your knowledge and permission so he doesn't get lost. Don't go off with strangers. My mom always emphasized that to us when we were little. I don't see anything wrong with making them aware now.
I am sure Soonee will have a much better explanation and plan of action for you! She is so kid with the teaching kid stuff. And perhaps the others too have anecdotal advice.
My son had separation anxiety - still does sometimes - so it was natural for him and I did always tell him you stay here until I pick you up - sort of remind him as you go kind of thing.
I agree with West.
Thank you all!
I think when babies are born they grab your heart and take it with them... such a blessing and a curse sometimes.
You’re not alone, my daughter is 17 and I still worry about her going off with strangers (Natalie Holloway scenario).
I can totally relate to your feelings!
The thing that stands out from your post to me though is the fact that those 2 people did what they did!!! I am STUNNED! In this day & age with the training the should have received they should know that how they behaved was not right.
I work at a school (Finance Officer) & I have driven past a couple of boys a couple of times when it has been raining. I have been tempted to stop & ask if they would like a lift but I know if it were MY dd I'd have a fit if she accepted that lift ... so I don't stop.
