Summer's Starting

Well, our summer officially started last week when the kids got out of school, but the summer plans are starting to formulate. Finally.
Initially, I was thinking I might have surgery this summer but that's not going to happen, so now my summer is open. There were plans for the kids to go see their dad but nothing set. Now, there are plans and dates set so now I know what kind of time frames we are working towards! The kids will go to them next Saturday, just in time for Father's Day- which is good for them.
Next week though- Hiker is going on a scouts trip with his son to Florida... so for about 5 days, I will have nothing but time to myself!!!! Woohooo ME TIME!!!!! lol It's sad, huh- if I'm cheering for a moment in time when everyone is away?? Just for a short time, I will enjoy it. But eventually- I will be glad to have Hiker back in town, and then later in the summer, to have the kids back. I'm sure that my Dad will be coming around wanting to "keep me company" if he thinks I'm sitting at home all alone. So yeah- I have to grab for my alone time when I can get it, because it doesn't come often.
And now Hiker has invited me to go with them this summer when they go to his parent's place for July 4th. With his son, two of his daughters and their kids. All to his parent's house! Which would mean meeting more of the family! I've already met Hiker's two sisters, but haven't met their brother yet. Or all the other nieces/nephews/cousins that all live out that way. Yikes... Not sure why that is somewhat scary to me, but it is.
Dad had talked about making a trip to Hawaii this summer (while the kids are gone) but he looked into flights (or flights/hotel packages maybe)

I hear you. I am so glad I planned my trip to OH way back in Jan. Airfare has gone up a lot since then. And gas is ridiculous now. I doubt I'll go anywhere else this summer. Maybe a short road trip with M over the 4th of July since neither of us have our kids then. Enjoy your kid-free time.

Wow, Shrimps.
House stuff is done, thankfully! I still need to do more cleaning though- I swear, I've mopped that laundry-room hallway three times and I'm still finding dirt residue in there!! Where is it all coming from?!??
The kids will stay with their Dad maybe a month and a half? I plan to get them back in August so I can "reprogram" them back to

Alone time Shrimps??? Take full advantage!! Girl you need it! I think that sounds nice also about the 4th of july with Hikers extended family. I know that can be nerve racking though.
Ahhhh Summer. I love it. My favorite time of year although I love the fall too.
DD is really involved in the performing arts and also scouts. So she will be in a couple ballet recitals and in a week long acting/theatre camp. She has a couple photo shoots set up, one is for tomorrow. Fun!
We'll be
I also thought it would be cool if I could find a martial arts class to "play" with while the kids are gone- but I haven't seen what is available, or what times they meet (and if they match up with the time I have free), and what costs. But the thought has crossed my mind several times over the past few months. And... to figure out what TYPE of martial art to try out as well! There's so many variations!
