With my honey! And I'm still as smitten as the day we met! Things have been going really well, we've been living together quite comfortably since Jan 1. He is just an awesome guy, very loving and respectful, loves when I call him honey bunny in public LOL.

I just am SOOO happy, he's been so good to both my son and I. He's a great role model, which my son needs since his dad is A) not a good one and B) not close to us, he's over 12 hours away. Ds even asked him the other day if he could call him "stepdad", to which he said yes, if that's what ds wanted. He said to me that that made him feel good.

This man is everything I ever wanted in my life, I just wish I could have met him years ago, you know? Alas, if I had not been with my son's father I wouldn't have learned so many things about myself and had such a great kid. That's a blessing, right??

We have talked about marriage, which is something that we both want. And kids in a few years, not right away, I'm only 28 now and I still have a few years left in me for bearing fruit. He is just so cute, for example, we're in the shower and he'll write our initials in a heart on the window. I just love sappy stuff, and so does he LOL!

I just can't believe it's already been 7 months.

Time flies when you're in love...

Wow, you see, that's cheap. I'm thinking the budget will be $1000 and I don't even intend to go that high. I want to find a cute summery dress, don't care if it's more for a prom, you know? And renting tux's is a lot better than buying something that I know he'd only wear the one time, he's more of a nice sweater guy than a suit guy. And ds, he'd outgrow a suit in two weeks the rate he's growing!! For flowers, I have always loved just a handful of white cala lillies, and that's what I intend to have- even if they have to be silk cause they're not in season, who will know the difference? LOL. It's more important for me that people attend, rather than making a big show or expecting a lot of things.

I know one woman who made her guest list according to what she figured they would spend on a gift. Personally I don't like the idea of registeries and that sort of thing for couples who already live together and have everything, you know? Like myself, I already own a household full of furniture and goods, and making up a registry would just be to have better things and that should be something I should pay for myself. The old tradition behind the registries was because the couple getting married still lived at home and would be starting out with nothing. I haven't lived at home since I was 17, so I've got everything I should need. I would much rather have that person be a part of my day than send me a wok. The wok won't be what I will be thinking of in 20 years.

Enough of my rambling... any other thoughts about registries?

I think it is a blessing to have the decision of a registry!! ;-)

I think I would feel the same way as you - that I have everything I need and like - and would not really need things for my house. But I am always relieved when someone I know gets married and they have a registry because then I can go online to shop and have the gift sent to their house. And I know I am picking out what they want.

If I was so lucky as to find someone to marry again, I would want a small cozy wedding - only close family and friends - it would not be expensive - and I would probably not have a registry.

See, I wouldn't check a registry for anything, I would give them money for a present. In my mind it's a lot more helpful to have some cash, especially if the couple is going on a honeymoon- they could use it to pay for it, or use it while travelling.

One friend I got a gift card to her favorite store, so she could pick out whatever she wanted and didn't have to worry about getting the same thing twice (she didn't have a registry.) One person bought them a lawnmower for their new place, everyone was ooing and aawing over that one LOL!

A gift card or cash is a good idea.
