Wow - a group of 12 year old boys can keep a mom BUSY. I guess I have been spoiled by having an only child!
Our evening started at 5PM with a lot of boys from school and the neighborhood arriving for a sleepover. First was a swim in the pool complete with water basketball. Then I hear - we are starved.
I had bought frozen pizzas and made mac-n-cheese, salad and chicken with rice - put out a buffet. Was smart enough to get plastic plates!
Then they went on a big run around the neighborhood with all the kids playing some sort of boy game and football and basketball. One came in with a skinned elbow so I bandaged up for him. Then they got too hot so back in the pool. Then hungry for cake - I put out a big Oreo ice cream pie. Then they wanted back in the pool and now it was almost 11PM so I said NO - time for xbox and winding down. Even our dog was too tired to go in the pool at that point - they were trying to entice him in with a ball - which he NEVER refuses and he ran to me.
This morning I got them up for breakfast by letting the dogs jump on them. They enjoyed blueberry waffles, bagels and juice. Then watched the dog play water fetch!! LOL!!
Time to clean up and get the house and food ready again - my family is coming for a party. Pretty much everything is done! Wild weekend has a whole new meaning - LOL!!

The story gets better!!!
We had a lesson here on the little white lie. It was about 4PM when the guests were supposed to arrive. I had the cake out on the table and was setting up the main table on the patio when I noticed that the cake was missing a huge chunk. My perfectly iced cake looked like a bear literally ripped off part of it. And one guess in my mind knew that it was the dogs - they must have stood on their hind legs and ate part of it. At first I panicked and said I have to go to the store - and then we realized it was not that much and with one stroke of the big knife I could cut off the dog part and be left with cake that was untouched. So, DS and I decided not to get a new cake and to put that one away til service time and say we had an accident with it but not mention the dogs. LOL!! So that is what we did. It was his special recipe baked completely from scratch with home made frosting. And it would probably not be possible to get a peanut safe one from the store on such short notice. I didn't freak or get mad and I think that is an important lesson for him.
" I didn't freak or get mad and I think that is an important lesson for him."
That IS a huge lesson- kids really learn how to react to things by example, so if we blow up, get mad, freak out or throw a big hissy they will too!
It's okay to jump...you have wings!
To move forward...you have to stop looking back.
I must ask you......woman where do you GET your energy?????LOL!
Marathons, biking....and a 12 y/o boy sleep over party? I gotta hand it to you...you got some stamina! Sounds like you planned and survived a great party and all had lots of fun!!!
Way to roll with it, Judy!
Thanks, Moon!
Today we made a test - we put crackers on the counter to see which dog is capable of standing on hind end and eating them - and we found it was the red one - he is very athletic. But not such a piggie like the other one - so probably why not that much was taken. We are still laughing about it!
I think the lucky thing is that I put it away til later - not like we left it out like that to be the opening topic!! LOL!!
