My daughter had an Algebra test today and I can't wait to see how she did. I am hoping she did a lot better than she expected to during our conversation last week. She has no confidence with math not to mention algebra and she claims she has been lost in what they are studying. Last semester, she was believing that she was flunking algebra and pulled a B out of it. When it comes to algebra I am absolutely no help at all. I just looked at it last night and got a headache, course I didnt' tell her that! They are graphing linear equations. I don't remember having anything like that, but then again I didn't go too far in algebra.
She is begging me to put her into this other algebra class...kind of like pre-algebra. I told her let's wait and see how she does today.
One thing I like about her new school is I can go online and see her grades to date, but UGHHHH, it hasn't been posted yet. I hope it doesn't take the teacher long to get it posted. I was sending good vibes to her during the test time. If she does get a decent grade on it, I think I'm going to suprise her with a concert ticket to 3 Days Grace. I'M PRAYING, PRAYING, PRAYING!!!!

You always amaze me with what you figure out - you really do. You were instrumental in the MA personality disorder thing, too.
But what your post really shows is the downside to mainstream education. If someone was not a strong advocate for your daughter, such as yourself, she would languish and stay very behind when really what she needs is someone to fine tune and personalize her education. Now she is already GRADES ahead of her peers!!
Thanks--at least now I know it is not just me!

Hugs to your friend, emma! I know of an online friend who is dealing with the same thing, as she had to put her DH into a nursing home too. He regressed enough that she just couldn't take care of him herself, at home. They have kids too- and she has to keep going for them... so it's been very hard.

I can't imagine losing a loved one in this way. It's like losing a loved one through Alzheimer's, except this isn't exactly Alzheimers, and it happens to people while they are still quite young. Scary stuff...
