I made an offfer on a Condo that was accepted, I had my inspection last week, and now the lawyers are duking it out on what the sellers will fix. I had a mover come over to my place last Friday to give an estimate of what my move will

These are great announcements, Taina! I think there was never a better time to buy your own place than now - it is a buyer's market and the interest rates are low - and you will accumulate equity and be able to write off the interest on taxes. All good stuff. But I do know that buying it and closing on it are stressful. Just try to imagine 6 months from now when all the expenses are done and you are sitting in your own place enjoying it! Congrats!!

And as for match.com - you never know - you may find the man of your dreams!! You are older and wiser - so you know how to weed them out. Try to have a sense of humor with it. And dear heavens, keep us posted with what you find!

Thanks Mark and Judy! I'm getting a really beautiful, large condo(3 floor townhouse) at a

really great price. It's a private, gated community that has a tennis court, and pool to boot. These

ammenities are super hard to come by in NYC, so I know I really lucked out. Although, I'm getting a good price, it's still going to cost a lot, so I'm stressed over the thought of how broke I'll be when it's all over.

My kids are so psyched about it! My older kids are really proud of me. Their reactions have really been nice.

As far as OLD goes, I have no expecatations and will take it with a super, grande grain of salt :-)

Plus I am thinking that if you are busy with that house you won't put as much emotional investment in old - it is sort of a fun entertainment/distraction kind of thing. LOL!!

The new condo, in NYC to boot, sounds FANTASTIC!!! You will make it work - I know you are used to budgeting and such - and being on your own - and it will all work out great. You have come a long way since some of the first stories you posted - good stuff - that will make you picky on OLD and that is a good thing!!
