Cheers!

Hi West,

Great idea for a thread!

Something new and terrific was that I went white water rafting (30 miles in two days) for the first time this past weekend and had the BEST time. I really felt a sense of accomplishment because I was very nervous before I left for the trip BUT as we made it through each rapid I couldn't wait for the next one. I jumped off a rock cliff...so engergized this weekend! I met a lot of really great people and had so much fun! I also feel that I left so much baggage flowing down that river and I feel really excited for my next challenge.

I'm 32 and I love it that I get carded...who are we kidding? :-) Seriously...What I love about me is my laid back nature. I feel that it really helps me let things go once I'm done chewing on it for a little bit. Also, I tend to be direct and even though I get in a "little" trouble for that from time to time I don't mind at all. I'd rather say sorry than not stay true to me...and yes there are sorry's :-)Overall, I really just love my life.

I love love love my daughter (as you all do). She's actually glueing (sp..looks funny:-) leaves on a vest right now for a fall play. She's an only child and so much fun. She's a real thrill seeker...loves anything fast and has a great spirit. We just had an amazing conversation that I find difficult for some adults to carry. I think one of the greatest compliments that I received was from two of my friends...one married with no kids (by choice) and one single..."We (friends talking) always talk about DD and she is a mini you and we can take her anywhere and she just fits right in no matter what is going on or where we are, I want to clone her".

I'm over my post-break "funk" up from a serious relationship of three years. I'm not into having another relationship right now...Though my friends were teasing me this weekend b/c I found my flirtatous mode again...some of those river guides are REALLY cute :-) Right now though, I think I'm just going to hang back for a little bit and enjoy my daughter and her accomplishments as well as my great friends and date here and there:-)

Again....GREAT thread!

S~

I am so happy that all my coorporate tax fillings are over for this year, I am a Payroll/Benefits Mgr and these fillings and reports kill me every year-Yipee over for this year ! I am always greatful when I get gigs with my free lance, part time modeling gigs. I may have catalouge work next week, that may lead to a steady gig. Some models become so successful that they are able to give up their full time jobs and devote their full time to it. I wouldn't want to do that because I like what I do, and all the great benefits, but the more gigs that come my way, the more I can rest assured that me and my dd can take a nice vacation next year and the I have the money for her camp enrollment (big$).
As always, I am so grateful that my kids are all doing well in their endevors and my
beautiful grandaughter is thriving.

What is great today?

Hmmm, well, I DID get more responsibility at work, which hopefully means that I am MORE of a *keeper* and will be extended again past Dec 31.

From the sounds of it, your son is very close to starting to read.

Wow - everyone here has such positive things to report!! That is so refreshing to read all of them.

Well, my terrific tidbit is that I am one step closer to getting this kitchen finished - it is really starting to look like a kitchen now instead of a demolition derby. I can use the sink, refrigerator and dishwasher now.

DS is doing well in school - having fun - growing big. My biz is staying busy. Life is good - no real drama on the horizon (except for hurricane Wilma - but they aren't too sure just yet - will see tomorrow).

I did my kitchen last year, and I was so happy with the results. I love cooking, so there's nothing better than nice new surrounds to enjoy it in. You're almost there !
I will pray that Wilma dosen't head your way. My granddaughter lives in Florida and everytime there's a hurricane commming their way I get so nerveous ! She's in Orlando though so she's relatively safe. They had a direct hit last year, but they just had downed trees and such still I get scarred. It's really terrible about all these natural disasters this year, I keep praying for all that to end.

I have not heard from him in a few weeks and I don't really care, either. The attention was nice but I worry we have nothing in common and he is too busy/flighty.

I just posted to Donna that the funniest thing has come over me this week - this feeling of peace. I feel very settled and happy by myself. Maybe it is all this nesting and building on my house - I don't know!!

AND DS is trying to talk me into a dog. As I posted to Donna, I have not wanted another since our last one because she was so bad and also because I was worried it would make it that much harder to meet someone. But we just discovered this hybrid that doesn't shed and has a mellow personality. They are being bred for guide dogs because they are so kind and obedient.

But we will see. DS has to be mature and helpful and he says he is willing to do it. He also has to agree to having the dog crate in his room and being the one to get up in the middle of the night and take care of it - which he is also willing to do.

How are you doing with the cats?
