Things are bright here

I am enjoying my quiet time in the convent - it is so cozy and clean and comfortable and quiet and sane :-) DS and I had so much fun on our vacation and we have brought all of the goodness and memories home with us. We really had fun and want to do it again! Everything is cleaned up and organized. So all is good!

This weekend after my workouts we are going to squeeze in a trip to the keys to learn kayaking and we are taking the dogs with us for another mini trip - although this one is just a couple days not a whole week. Kayaking is one of the things we have done on a few of our vacations and I think DS is big enough to man his own boat and this trip will provide instruction as well as a variety of waterway types - ocean and trails.

My friends here and I are forming a multisport club and they asked me to be an officer and I said yes. And I found a new cycling group that rides in my home town. And I am joining the kayak meetup group. All good things to keep me social and meeting more people.

I do have the profiles back up - but not expecting anything anytime soon. KM was a 5 month process - so maybe I will have a date by Thanksgiving? hahaha!! LOL!! It is just hard to find someone who meets my criteria because I want active/outdoorsy and stable and close by in my age group - a rare combination. EH has 10 but no one is writing and I am not that wild about any of them anyway. Match did bring in a 28 year old who wanted to warn me about a storm coming in. And someone who lives an hour and a half from here who wants me to come over there and go for a walk on his beach. Not today.....

I am at peace with my decision about KM - because although he was a nice person - he was NOT a match for me.

I love the update! You do sound at peace, and I like the easy happy vibe you send out. It is great..

I have a really good feeling about this new multisport club you are starting up. I just have a feeling that you might find a great guy that way (I know that is not your main objective for starting the group but still- I have a feeling). Probably some great guys who live near by and are active and all.

The kayaking sounds fun!! I hope you two have FUN!

Thanks, PacSun! I forgot to add that I have a bunch of local bike races - and the swimming club at our pool has gotten a lot stronger/busier! So, all good stuff!!

I think the sport club is a fun project - and my friends are all professionals - all married - but they have friends and friends of friends and friends are good! So we will see.

The funny thing is that I just got a warm welcome from one of the guys in the kayak club - and I think it is someone I spoke to a while ago on match. He says that if I want help deciding on a kayak that he will help me - LOL!

You go girl! We all know that having a very full and active life is key to being at peace with ourselves. It's a nice side bennie that guys seem to be attracted to busy confident women like moths to a flame......

The thing is, I need to find enough moths! I feel like a single guy my age, much less an active one with manners and no red flags, is a rare bird. I mean, I am not asking for Bill Gates or anything - just a nice one. I have had quite enough drama with red flags and do not want anymore. Going back to the exw, drinking a case of beer in one day, not paying taxes in 8 years, personality disorder, very lazy and ED plus tattoos and all kinds of annoyances - NO MORE PLEASE!! Just a nice one!! LOL!!

But on the plus side, I have already had 2 messages from the meetup kayaker guys saying they want to go kayaking with me. I do not even have a kayak yet! LOL!! :-) Much less the big bucks for one or the place to put it/them in the garage or the real assurance that I want one or which one I want! LOL!! Apparently there are all types - it is not a matter of picking one out in your favorite color! There are fishing ones, recreational ones, fast ones, ones you sit on, ones you sit in, ones with compartments, on and on. It gave me a headache to read all of that - i want a simple one that goes okay and doesn't dump me!! LOL!!

One guy wrote and he has this handmade over the top racing kayak - and he said he would help me find one and learn if I like and he has been patient with questions plus he gave me a great list of places to go around here. And the other one wrote that he knows all the great places and has kayaked for years and loves to take photographs. There are 715 members in this group and a fair amount are men. I guess my state is the place for it because we have such variety and such calm water.

But DS and I have to have a lesson first and see if we like it - that is the main thing - that it gives us something fun to do. I was talking to our neighbors and they have 2 in their garage and they were saying how the lake in our subdivision is great and you can go far - and there is another lake across the street that goes through these mansions where many of the football players live and they love to see them and there are some parks not far from here, too.

I will send those guys a thank you note tomorrow or something. Fodder for here at least, right?

LOL!! Thanks for the laugh today! You are too funny!! But yes - that would apply to both, wouldn't it!

Although this morning didn't start out too swift for me - I was running on the sidewalk with my dog and a biker came along and I had to dodge onto the grass - only there was a hole under the grass and as I did a faceplant I sprained/rolled the ankle - the familiar pop. So, I was dizzy and had to hobble home.

I can still work out - but running might have to be in the pool and I am NOT happy about that!

Oh yikes, Westie!!!!! I hope you're not too injured!!! No big races coming up soon, is there?

And that other post by Pacific... made me think "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish..."
