I think the answer to your question varies depending on the circumstances... like how long you've been dating, do you live together, how old are the kids, how often does he have them?
If he's the main parent, then it will be harder for him to schedule alone time than a parent who sees the child part time or every other weekend. It's a delicate balance between the world of being a parent and being an adult who wants to see their partner. Add to that mix the need to do things with friends/ family with/ without the kids...
If I was dating a man who only had his children every other weekend, then I wouldn't expect to see him at all on that weekend, to give him time to enjoy his children, or keep the visit short and sweet. I wouldn't expect him to get a sitter on his weekend so I could spend time alone unless it was a special occasion- and even then...
Well there's nothing wrong with setting up a "date night" with your bf- I did this with my ex live in partner, we went out for a nice dinner at least once a month and were able to just connect.
Well it does depend on the situation. I have four girls and I haven't introduced them to DF yet. I do see him every day at work but we also haven't told anyone there. I usually spend one night a weekend with him. Sometimes we spend a few hours after work together but that is rare. So I see him four times a month just him and I.

What is your situation?
BF and I have been dating for a year now.
B travels for work, so any alone time we'd get after K goes to bed doesn't happen because he's usually in another state.
It is funny how that works though, isn't it?
Hi!
