Tsunami's Sort of Weekend

I am always so jealous of everyones weekend plans. I typically work weekends so usually have nothing to post. But this weekend was cool, even though I worked.

I got my daughter home for the weekend from camp. She is up at a weight loss camp for 3 weeks and took the weekend off to come home. She was hating life the first week and was crying to come home nearly daily. On her counselors recommendation I let her stay and literally sweat it out. Glad I did. Her second week was so different. She met kids, made friends and had a good time. She lost 8 pounds and is very happy with herself. I am happy that she met new friends, tried new sports, now likes working out outside more. Before I could not get her outside and away from the computer/video game to save my life. I swear she is a different kid.

So that was my weekend. Having her home, happy and proud.

Not much to report on the dating side. RG still wants to be friends. Its hard for me to do that. I have been chatting, emailing and talking to a paramedic for a week or so. It sounds promising. I like the way he speaks and he works similar crazy hours as me. Its so great to meet someone who understands my weird schedule. That was the great thing about RG. We had the same days off.

Laurie how old is your daughter? I was surprised to read there are weight loss camps for kids! 8 pounds is a great result.

I am glad to hear your daughter stuck it out and made new friends and learned to enjoy sports. I know that must have been hard for you!! Sometimes I think we are all afraid to let our kids grow and overcome things on their own.

Paramedic sounds interesting - it is refreshing to hear you are getting interest in someone else! Hang in there!!

She is 12 and they have campers there as young as 8 and old as 18. I think its a great idea for kids. This camp has been around for many years. The current owner was a camper there herself as was many of the staff and they have a 60% return camper ratio.

Kiddo did great! I got her home today for good. She lost 10lbs and 4 inches and gained self confidence and made friends. Well worth the money I spent on it.

Things with the paramedic are going well. We havent got together yet, but we talk daily and email several times a day. He is visiting San Francisco this week. Which is where I used to live. So I made a list of fun to go places for him and he is keeping in touch while he is there, that makes an impression!
