I teach K-1 kids, it is totally normal for them to start doing weird things with their eyes at this age. It is like they become aware that they CAN do certain moves, then they continue to "practice", then notice the attention they get...My daughter did the exact same thing at 7 (because her friend had a "tic", she developed one too)
I would be very frustrated with the man situation. Seems like mixed messages. You want to scream and yell, "Well, what is it????" Does he want you, or want to move? Sounds like he needs a line in the sand drawn. But the hard part is, you don't really want to see what he does when you do that.
