Hey Alison,

I wish we had a shucks or darn icon! I can't remember how old you are, but even if you were in your late 20's, I think the life experience from 21 to even 28 is big. I had two children, married, divorced

I don't know why it's acceptable, but it DEFINITELY shouldn't be. That is it's borderline pervert for me when the age gap is that wide and the twenty something barely in her twenties.

I agree that being pushy and thinking 5 minutes is going to change your mind with him, is a joke and it shows his maturity level. Too bad, but still sorta sweet!

Remember I had a 22 year old ask me out the other night and I'm 35 going on 36 in November! I said NO WAY, but he was pushy too and finally I really had to be rude about it.

I knew I was opening myself to criticism if I even mentioned this encounter.

Flattering, yes. Next, yes. You are wise to know it would not work and would only waste your time and emotional fuel. I have an open mind to a age-gap relationship - but I think you both need to be past 30. And he is just too far away from that never mind not settled in his life. Imagine what would happen if he graduates and then wants to move somewhere else? Like what would you do then?
