Been applying for work, which is a slow process and I'm hoping for something soon. At this point I'll take temp part time work, just to get some money in and some more experience.
Any ideas for landing a great job in only a few days???
Nicolas is doing really well in kindergarten. He really likes his daycare and the kindergarten and they are really good with him. He's been complaining of soreness in his legs, growing pains- poor guy.
My boyfriend and I are doing really well. We have discussed moving in together sometime in the new year, since all is going so well. At that point, we will have been dating for over 6 months. We are both very happy and want the same things, have the same goals in life. He's a great role model for Nicolas, more so than the man who is his father. We have talked about getting married and having children as something we both see in our future. I'm so happy I can't even begin to describe it!!
As for the accident I was in last month, the guy who hit us is claiming that we hit him. You know, it disappoints me because he's an older gentleman and all my life I've been taught to respect my elders and that they are the ones who are the role models for the younger generations. For him to outright lie is a big blow on that belief. So I don't know what is going to happen.
On another note, I was able to buy my mom's car from her- she went and leased a new car for herself. She sold it to me for a really good deal, it's a 98 cavalier with low mileage.
Well, that's my update. Hope you guys are doing well...

I work in Human Resources and I can tell you, in my experience Unemployment Offices only care about whether you left your job voluntarily or involuntarily. Most people who quit their jobs voluntarily do not qualify for benefits. If your ex employer denies benefits you'll have to appeal and then there will be a hearing, but I doubt they will look into the working conditions much.
If you truly feel that the conditions you were working under were unacceptable contact your State's department of labor or the EEOC and file a grievance. You're a woman, which puts you in a protected class, and I am assuming as a single mother you've probably had to take time off to take care of sick kids, and injuries etc... you may have some protection on your side, like the FMLA or unlawful Harassment/Discrimination. You may have a case. It can't hurt to look into it, but don't count on the unemployment office to do the looking for you.
Best of luck in your job search...advice for you- cater your resume to the specific job you are applying to, post it on monster.com and on your state's job board. Search both those places as well as your local paper for open positions. During an interview if they ask why you left your last job, do NOT complain about your boss or the working conditions...I'm not saying lie, but come up with something more positive. Also, try to have atleast one good reference from that job that will speak highly of you.
If all else fails, sign up with a temp agency to get you some work right away.
Good luck!
p.s. make sure your insurance company knows you believe he is lying. Adjusters and investigators can often tell how the impact occured based on the evidence on the car. Did you get a police report or any witnesses?
That's really appalling that someone would lie about crashing...I normally have a camera in my car to photograph things, but of course the day I was in an accident, I had taken the camera out for something else. The insurance investigators in my case just went by the fact that she had a stop and she didn't yield. It didn't matter than I crashed into her or she crashed into me...I had the right of way. Could something like this be happening in your crash that could help you out? Good luck! (and on the job front, too)
As for the car, the damage is basically a big long scrape down the side of my car and his car has a clipped corner. Unfortunetly it's the type of damage that could be caused by either one of us going into the other. He's lying about what lane he was at at the intersection, and I don't know if anyone really knew that we were hit- since there wasn't that big BANG CRUNCH noise upon impact. So no, we have no witnesses.
I do have to meet the insurance guy on thurs to talk about my back injury.
