Happy! I am back with my old job from Germany. The last two months in Wilmington were AWFUL. I was on welfare and everything! It was so embarrassing and awful for myself and my children. My company contacted me, when they heard I was in N.C. and asked me to join them in Charlotte. I moved within a week and now I am back to my old life: money and career and happiness.

Thanks everyone! s are getting adjusted. Alex loved Wilmington and Nina had problems adjusting their and now its vice-versa. It'll work out tho. I got my first paycheck today and realized with a little shock, that I might have to get a part time job for just one night or two the week. THAT would be awful, I will have to figure that out. I was so sure that I wouldn't have to worry about that at all, but it looks as if they are taking out more taxes then I thought they would. I was sure that I had enough money to save a bit and now I am quite skeptical. I can make it month to month, but that wasn't really the idea. LOL. I was supposed to make it and put a few hundred on the side. Now the few hundred aren't their. Any thoughts on that?

Cat,

I know how you feel, I just took a lower paying job because I found out I wasn't being extended in the auxiliary position I had- this job is a permanent position but less per hour.

Are you sure they are taking out the right amount? Get someone to help you figure that out. I know you do have control over the withholding and as head of house with 3 deductions you may be able to deduct a little less.

What can you do to go further with your company and be promoted? What can you do to make more money over the long term? Think long term. Sure, a part time thing can help you now and is okay. But something you can do to further your career and income earning power is going to be a much better solution.

Good luck as you find your way.
