Since you asked, here is an update.
My hubbie and I are fantastic, I love being remarried!!! I never thought that I would find my perfect mate but I did with him. He is a great husband and provider for our family. The boys and the girls are doing wonderful; we really did a great job blending them together. They look forward to seeing each other on their weekend’s home with us and they genuinely care for one another. They were very happy that they get to spend an extra night with us because of the holiday on Monday. They are all getting so big, my oldest son is taller than me now and wears a size 10-½ shoe. My oldest daughter is all about her friends and boyfriend and spending time with them. Although, she is very good about organizing her time (a little help from us) with family time and friend time. My youngest two are still into playing and doing kids’ stuff where the other two are maturing enough to go out to the movies or something like that without us. Our children are growing up to be wonderful people. They all like to hang out on their bikes with the other neighborhood kids and also been playing flag football with the neighbors.
Oh, the house projects have been huge!! We fell victims to the flood back in May and we had to tear out the entire cellar. This is where my bedroom and the girls bedrooms were and also all of our cellar type items. The girls are now in a small bedroom that we were setting up for a new bathroom and my husband and myself have been in our addition (without a door). I am very thankful we had someplace to go besides the living room, which we did do for a few weeks until we had the time to move our bedrooms to the 1st floor. We have had a huge yellow storage container in my front of my house for a few months now with all the things we couldn’t fit upstairs. The whole process has been stressful but we finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
We had a whole lot of things going on and trying to figure out the best way to go. We thought we could afford to build up on the house then after a long drawn out process it was way too expensive for us. We are now in the process of rebuilding the cellar so it doesn’t leak anymore. We actually had our house lifted and it was on stilts for about a month. They took out the front foundation and side and had a new foundation poured. We had the house lifted about 2ft so we could have higher ceilings in the basement and normal windows put in. We did everything we could so the cellar will stay dry. My husband’s company closed its doors on Dec. 15th so he has had the time to work on the cellar.
My life has been upside down since May ’06 but we all worked together as a team and help each other through it all. While the house was lifted, we stayed with my parents who we so wonderful to us. They had enough beds and enough space for us for a whole month while we were there.
There is my condensed version of my update.
Lori

Lori,
Good to see you, thanks for the update!
I can totally relate to the flood- we got flooded out of our place after some heavy rains in November, we were out for a month and now 2 months later still waiting for the kitchen and bathroom flooring to be replaced.
I love your story - so glad you came back and shared. You do give us all hope!! It is great to hear from alumni. We do see them from time to time.
Don't be a stranger, now!! :-)
And best wishes to you and your family!!!!!
Judy,
I love that I give you all hope...it was 5 yrs before I met my husband. I am so glad that I didn't settle with my first long term relationship, I would have been miserable now.
How is your son doing? Any relationships on the forefront for you? Any marathons coming up? Did you get that pool in yet?
Lori
Hi Lori and thanks for asking about me :-)
My son is doing great - can't ask for more - he has been doing well in school and with his own activities. The pool is in and will be ready for our second summer soon enough!! The puppies are grown dogs and dear companions.
I had this long crush on a former coach. And then made a decision it wasn't going to go anywhere. So, I had to give up seeing him. Got a new coach who is quite good - he is keeping me very busy and I won my last race - that had NEVER happened before, ever!!
There are a few cute guys at the pool - one always smiles at me. Another runner that had some interest - but I don't think he is ready to date. And I ran into another guy on the bike last weekend that took quite an interest in telling me his riding tales and asking me about mine. So I am getting out there. Also being picky. Am enjoying my me time.
